Richard

Noted the line the publisher attributed to Richard in its survival tips and re-dated the first-party record note
Richard is the third principal character of SILENT HILL: Townfall, named publicly for the first time on August 25, 2026 when the game's cast was announced. He stands alongside Simon Ordell, the protagonist, and Zoe, the voice that reaches Simon through the CRTV. Everything published about Richard so far fits inside a few lines of first-party copy, and this page deliberately does not go past them.
First-party material introduces him as "the enigmatic man who summons Simon back to St. Amelia and sets in motion the events of SILENT HILL: Townfall." The same copy continues: "As Simon's journey unfolds, Richard's connection to both the town and its troubled past becomes increasingly difficult to ignore."
Konami's current character notes add to that. They describe Richard as another voice heard through the CRTV, asking Simon to come back to the island and "put some things to rest."
Apart from one line the publisher attributed to him in its survival tips for new players on September 26, 2026, "It's tough going out here", that is the whole of the first-party record on him as of October 13, 2026. His connection to the town and to Simon is part of the story the released game tells, and this page does not describe it beyond what Konami and Screen Burn have published, both to stay accurate and to avoid spoiling it. Reviews of the released game report that part of the game is played as him.
Two voices pull Simon back to the island, and first-party material puts both of them on the same channel. Zoe begs Simon through layers of static to come back to her, and Richard asks him to come back and put some things to rest. Neither voice is captioned on screen in any trailer.
No specific line of dialogue in any trailer has been attributed to Richard by an official source, and none is attributed to him here. Konami published official wallpaper art of him on September 14, 2026, but no official text describes his appearance, so this page does not attempt one.
Jon McKellan has given the only published account of how the three principals relate, and it is deliberately unhelpful: "Zoe's story is with Simon, and Simon's story is with our other character we see at the beginning. They're all deeply connected, but they don't really know how or why." The three are bound together, in other words, and none of them understands the binding. That is as far as any developer statement goes.
Konami's own notes are equally guarded. They state that while Richard's ties to Simon are unknown, it is clear the two must work together to survive in St. Amelia and achieve their shared goals. That confirms the pair end up working together at some point, and stops short of saying why.
Richard is voiced by Terry O'Quinn. The credits listed alongside his name in the announcement are Lost and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Konami announced the Japanese voice cast on September 3, 2026, with Akio Otsuka (大塚明夫) as Richard. The other two roles, and the announcement itself, are covered on Cast.
O'Quinn on taking the part, published by Konami: "I'm aware that there's a very large and passionate following to SILENT HILL, and that initially piqued my interest. But what really pulled me in was the script."
O'Quinn's performance as Richard is nominated for Best Supporting Performer at the 2026 Golden Joystick Awards, announced on September 25, 2026. The winners are due to be announced at the awards ceremony in London on November 11, 2026.
When Konami's wallpaper download page opened on September 14, 2026 it carried a set listed under Richard's name, alongside sets for Simon and Zoe. That is the first official material issued under his name on its own. What the images actually show is not recorded here, because the files themselves are not publicly retrievable.
