Richard is the third principal character of SILENT HILL: Townfall, named publicly for the first time on August 25, 2026 when the game's cast was announced. He stands alongside Simon Ordell, the only playable character, and Zoe, the voice that reaches Simon through the CRTV. Everything published about Richard so far fits inside one paragraph of first-party copy, and this page deliberately does not go past it.
What Has Been Published
First-party material introduces him as "the enigmatic man who summons Simon back to St. Amelia and sets in motion the events of SILENT HILL: Townfall." The same copy continues: "As Simon's journey unfolds, Richard's connection to both the town and its troubled past becomes increasingly difficult to ignore."
That is the whole of the public record on him. What the connection is has not been stated by anyone who has seen the game, and nothing published narrows it down, so no reading of it is recorded here. This page stays short until more is announced.
The Summons
Two calls pull Simon back to the island, and they arrive over different channels. Richard's comes by telephone. Zoe's voice reaches Simon through layers of static on the CRTV. Keeping the two apart matters, because the trailers caption neither voice on screen.
No specific line of dialogue in any trailer has been attributed to Richard, and none is attributed to him here. No on-screen figure has been publicly identified as him either, and no description of his appearance has been published, so this page does not attempt one.
Connection to Simon and Zoe
Jon McKellan has given the only published account of how the three principals relate, and it is deliberately unhelpful: "Zoe's story is with Simon, and Simon's story is with our other character we see at the beginning. They're all deeply connected, but they don't really know how or why." The three are bound together, in other words, and none of them understands the binding. That is as far as any developer statement goes.
Voice
Richard is voiced by Terry O'Quinn. The credits listed alongside his name in the announcement are Lost and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. The other two roles, and the announcement itself, are covered on Cast.
