Ships and Fleets

Ships in Sea of Remnants are assembled rather than chosen. First party descriptions consistently use the language of custom parts, cannons and modular upgrades, and a captain is expected to grow from a single hull into a fleet. Ships also serve as faction identity: the six named groups on the sea are described interchangeably as fleets and as the ships at their centre.

Six fleets were named in the Make it Loud trailer shown in June 2026.
Fleet | Description |
|---|---|
Drift Bottle | Like a glass bottle cast into the waves, this ship never questions where its passengers come from. It is the player's starting vessel. |
Ranbo | Orbtopia's wildest rock stars. See Orbtopia. |
Black Baron | Enjoys the romance and riches of the sea with elegance, dignity and unwavering rules. |
Dawnbreaker | Elites and brilliant misfits, all gathered under the banner of the Empress. |
Wanderer | Sea drifters who go wherever they want and raise chaos wherever they land. |
Illusion Troupe | A sincere and joyful troupe at sea, and a home for the Shoreless. |
A seventh name, The Revenant, appears in the official crewmate data as the ship of the dancer Seamourn, but it was not among the six fleets named in the trailer. Whether it is a separate group or a vessel belonging to one of the six has not been stated. See Crewmates.
The Drift Bottle is the vessel the player takes the helm of. Its origins are described as a mystery, but it is built to last, with a dependable design and steady performance, and a distinctive fishbone figurehead that is said to resonate with the creatures of the sea. The framing at its introduction is that an unknown explorer from Orbtopia takes the wheel and, bound to the ship by something unseen, sets out on a voyage the whole sea will come to know.
Three tiers of artillery have been published for it.
Tier | Artillery |
|---|---|
Mythic Artillery | Skyhunter's Fury, Tiderider's Surge |
Legendary Artillery | Bottled Sea Fishbone Sniper III, Bottled Sea Skeletal Sniper III, Bottled Sea Fishbone Cannon III, Bottled Sea Fishfin Cannon III |
Warship Artillery | Diving Drift Sniper, Surfriding Drifter Tube |
The Fireworks Wanderer is the vessel of the Wanderer fleet. Its crew were once feared across the seas and then fell far enough to become a joke passed from port to port, losing treasure, dreams, ambition and the people they cared about most. They found their way back to the ship and to each other. The ship's forgotten voyage is described as beginning again when its captain, Edward, stirs from a long drunken haze.
Tier | Artillery |
|---|---|
Mythic Artillery | Shooting Star Giftbox, Lone Moon Giftbox |
Legendary Artillery | Festive Follies Sniper Rocket III, Festive Follies Flare Cannon III, Festive Follies Signal Cannon III, Festive Follies Spark Cannon III |
Warship Artillery | Torrent Pump Sniper, Dense Firework Hold, Plasma Splitter Cannon, Rolling Brewer Cannon |
The lookout Hilda and the information broker Isabella are both listed as crew of the Wanderer, and the February 2026 closed alpha was named the Wanderer Test after this fleet. See Closed Beta Test.
The three tier names published so far, in the order the official ship pages present them, are Mythic Artillery, Legendary Artillery and Warship Artillery. Legendary Artillery entries carry a numeral suffix, which suggests ranks within a tier, though no rank system has been described. Artillery is mounted in pairs or in fours depending on the vessel and tier.
Ships are the platform for naval fighting. Descriptions of sea combat put the emphasis on a fully armed warship taking on the creatures that roam the water, and on fleet against fleet engagements where positioning and timing decide the outcome. See Combat and Sea Monsters.
