A Closed Beta Test for Sea of Remnants is scheduled to begin in December 2026. It was confirmed in the descriptions of both the standard and extended gameplay showcases published on the official channel on 25 and 26 August 2026, and it follows the game's first public test, a PC closed alpha held in February 2026.

Convention Demos
Two hands-on demos were offered publicly in 2026. A demo was playable during Summer Game Fest Play Days in June 2026, running roughly 90 minutes and covering an introductory naval sequence, Orbtopia, the introduction of R.S, turn-based combat, ship building and a spread of minigames.
A shorter demo ran at gamescom from 27 to 30 August 2026. It was a condensed 20 minute slice set primarily on Echo Isle, in English, in which players recruited the lookout Hilda and the information broker Isabella before facing the Mermaid Morian. The booth also carried a photo booth, a Puppet Captain dress-up area and live cosplay performances, and the band Ranbo performed a new song. See Exploration and Islands and Sea Monsters.
Dev Talk
From August 2026 the team committed to publishing a development letter at least once every two months, each focused on a theme and covering specific changes, current progress and planned work. The first issue covered the closed beta, localisation, platform support and the gamescom appearance.
