The Mansion is a central point of interest in Rooted's world. It is a multi-room building where players find resources, practice combat, and learn about the pre-war world. The Mansion is one of the most fleshed-out locations on the 30+ square kilometer map and is one of the first major destinations players head toward after the starting zone.
The Mansion features multiple interior rooms that players can explore. Interior room collision was fixed in patch v0.0.2.362 (December 5, 2025), resolving issues where players could clip through walls and floors inside the building. The interior layout supports both individual scavenging and small cooperative parties moving room by room.
The Mansion contains a Manor Memorial section featuring photographs from before the bacteriological war. These photos provide lore context about the world that existed before the catastrophe, offering glimpses of the people and society that were lost. The memorial is one of the clearer storytelling beats on the map and is worth a slow walkthrough.
Located near the Mansion is a dedicated training range, added in the December 6, 2025 weapons update (patch v0.0.2.355). The range allows players to test firearms in a controlled environment without committing to a hostile encounter, which is especially useful when learning recoil, range, and reload timing on new guns.
The Mansion supports the standard salvaging loop. Interior rooms contain breakable junk and intact objects that yield construction materials, electronics components, and equipment fragments. The combination of safer training, lore content, and decent salvage makes the Mansion a strong early-game waypoint.
Because the Mansion has multiple interior spaces and a nearby training range, it scales well for multiplayer groups. Teams often split between scavenging interior rooms and practicing at the range, then meet to consolidate gear before pushing into nearby villages or contaminated zones.
Patch v0.0.2.362 (December 5, 2025): interior collision fixes resolved clipping through walls and floors.
Patch v0.0.2.355 (December 6, 2025, Weapons Update): training range added; firearms practice supported on site.
The Mansion gained renewed importance in Phase 3 when the firearms training range was added near it in the 0.0.2.355 update in December 2025. Players sight in newly recovered weapons here before stepping out into more hostile zones, and the area benefits from the visibility and sightlines the location offers.
As an established Point of Interest from the Alpha 2 cohort of additions, the Mansion offers a mix of mid-tier salvage suitable for survivors who are past the early forest phase. Players can expect electronics, furniture-grade materials, and occasional specialty items relevant to the workshop progression.
Salvage type | Expected yield |
|---|---|
Furniture and household | Planks, soft goods, basic crafting feedstock |
Electrical | Components for drones and basic automation |
Specialty | Occasional higher-tier items tied to environmental storytelling |
Carry a sidearm at minimum; the Mansion sits in patrol-adjacent territory.
Use the training range to confirm recoil and accuracy before moving out.
Plan a return trip with carrying capacity so a successful run is not capped by inventory.
Coordinate with co-op partners on splits and rendezvous points if running as a group.
The Mansion is implemented in the current build. Continued environmental and gameplay updates are expected through Phase 3 as the studio iterates the wider Points of Interest set.
