11Overview2233"Yawn Up a Storm" is the first major Important Request in Pokemon Pokopia, given by Professor Tangrowth in the Withered Wasteland. The quest involves finding Slowpoke, raising the area's humidity to 100 points so Slowpoke can yawn and trigger rainfall, and ultimately rescuing Onix from a cave. The quest culminates in an encounter with the legendary Pokemon Kyogre, who provides permanent rainfall to soften the rocks trapping Onix. Completing this quest is required to rebuild the Withered Wasteland's Pokemon Center and unlock the next two regions.4455Prerequisites6677RequirementDetailRegionWithered Wasteland (available from the start of the game)Moves learnedWater Gun (from Squirtle), Leafage (from Bulbasaur), Rock Smash (from Hitmonchan)Supplies recommendedLeppa Berries (to restore PP during heavy Water Gun use)8899Full Walkthrough10101111Phase 1: Find and Recruit Slowpoke12121313Build a Seaside Tall Grass habitat on the beach area of the Withered Wasteland. This requires pulling 4 grass patches using Leafage and placing them near the ocean.Slowpoke appears near an abandoned building in the habitat.Talk to Slowpoke and accept its escort request to guide it to the Pokemon Center.Clear the path for Slowpoke: use Water Gun on dry sections and place Wooden Steps (crafted from 2 Lumber each) on multi-level terrain gaps. Slowpoke can climb single-block heights on its own; only multi-level gaps need stairs. If Slowpoke stops moving, return to it and interact to resume the escort.14141515Phase 2: Raise Humidity to 10016161717Once Slowpoke reaches the Pokemon Center, the "Yawn Up a Storm!" Important Request officially activates. Your goal is to raise the surrounding area's humidity to 100 points. Talk to Slowpoke periodically to check the current humidity level. There are multiple methods to increase humidity:18181919MethodDescriptionPointsUnblock water sourcesUse Rock Smash on cracked/dripping rocks (especially northwest of and behind the Pokemon Center) to activate springs and create streams and pondsMajor contributionUse Water Gun on groundSpray Water Gun on dirt and dry ground tiles around the Pokemon Center to add moisture. Keep Leppa Berries on hand to restore PP.Moderate contributionPlace Horsea FountainsPurchase from the PC Shop and position in newly created ponds. Fountains spray water to increase surrounding humidity.Moderate contributionPlant Wildflower FieldsBulbasaur's request: purchase wildflower seeds from the shop and plant them close together. Bring Bulbasaur to accelerate growth instantly, creating a Field of Flowers habitat.Moderate contributionWater 10 Withered TreesBulbasaur's request: spray dried-up trees throughout the map with Water Gun to restore themModerate contributionCreate Hydrated Tall GrassSquirtle's request: find a depression east of the map, use Rock Smash to clear the clogged water source above it, fill the basin, then grow tall grass around the edge with Leafage. Move Squirtle to this habitat.Major contribution2020Tip: If humidity gets stuck (for example at 71 points), open the Requests menu to see which Pokemon's sub-quest you need to complete next. Bulbasaur and Squirtle both have yellow speech bubble side quests at this stage that directly increase humidity.21212222Phase 3: Build the Rain Dance Site23232424After raising humidity sufficiently, Squirtle suggests building a Rain Dance Site. Gather the following items and place them together in the designated area near the Pokemon Center:25252626ItemQuantityHow to ObtainCastform Weather Charm2Buy one from the Withered Wasteland PC Shop. Find the second inside Professor Tangrowth's starting cave (the game's opening area); search the trolley/wheelbarrow of junk.Wooden Plate1Purchase from the PC Shop (50 Life Coins)Leppa Berry1Shake berry bushes in the Withered Wasteland2727Place both Weather Charms against walls, add the Wooden Plate and Leppa Berry, and lead Squirtle to the site. Squirtle activates the Rain Dance party.28282929Phase 4: Trigger the Yawn30303131After the Rain Dance, speak to Slowpoke and ask it to yawn. If humidity is at 100 points, Slowpoke delivers its almighty yawn, triggering a special cutscene. Rain begins falling across the Withered Wasteland. However, the rainfall is brief and ends quickly, which is not enough to fully soften the rocks trapping Onix.32323333Phase 5: Kyogre Encounter34343535After Slowpoke's yawn, a loud roar erupts from the ocean to the north. Head to the fishing docks in the northern part of the map:36363737Find the broken docks at the north end of the Withered Wasteland.Visit a nearby workbench and craft bridge planks/flooring to repair the broken sections of the dock.Walk across the repaired docks to reach Kyogre, the legendary Water-type Pokemon, waiting at the end.Speak with Kyogre about the rain situation.Kyogre agrees to help, establishing permanent wet/rainy conditions in the Withered Wasteland.Befriend Kyogre.38383939Phase 6: Free Onix40404141With Kyogre's continuous rainfall softening the rocks:42424343Return to Onix's cave (the small cave in the western part of the Withered Wasteland, to the left of the opening area).Use Rock Smash repeatedly to destroy the now-softened rocks trapping Onix.Speak to Onix. It thanks you and asks you to relay its gratitude to everyone who helped.Visit everyone gathered in front of the Pokemon Center and relay Onix's message.Speak to Professor Tangrowth to officially complete the quest.44444545Phase 7: Post-Quest Setup46464747After completing the quest:48484949Create a Smooth Tall Grass habitat for Onix using Smooth Rock and Dry Tall Grass materials. Onix moves in and becomes a permanent community member.Rebuild the Withered Wasteland Pokemon Center (requires Environment Level 3, a Rebuilding Kit costing 1,000 Life Coins, plus 20 Lumber, 20 Stones, 10 Leaves, 10 Vine Ropes, and a crew of Onix + 7 other Pokemon).50505151Key Pokemon52525353PokemonRole in QuestSlowpokeCentral quest Pokemon; only Pokemon with the Yawn specialty. They are specifically designed to be unbreakable until Kyogre's permanent rainfall softens them.Stock up on Leppa Berries and cooked food before starting the humidity-raising process. You will use Water Gun extensively, which drains PP quickly. The second Castform Weather Charm is easy to miss. Return to Professor Tangrowth's starting cave (the very first area of the game) and search the trolley/wheelbarrow of junk.Complete both Bulbasaur's and Squirtle's sub-quests (yellow speech bubbles) for the largest humidity boosts. These are more efficient than spraying Water Gun on the ground.Slowpoke's Yawn specialty is useful later in the game for checking humidity levels in other areas. Keep it stationed where you want to monitor environmental conditions. After freeing Onix, prioritize rebuilding the Pokemon Center. It requires Environment Level 3, 1,000 Life Coins, significant materials, and Onix leading a crew of 8 Pokemon.Horsea Fountains from the PC Shop are an efficient humidity booster if Bulbasaur and Squirtle's quests alone are not enough to reach 100.
