Overview

Illuminate is a unique Pokemon Specialty in Pokemon Pokopia exclusive to Peakychu, a special female Pikachu variant introduced in Pokopia. Peakychu lights up the entire town it is in, dramatically raising area brightness without requiring multiple light sources.

What It Does

• Provides town-wide light that affects every habitat simultaneously

• Most useful in Bleak Beach, which begins in perpetual darkness

• Functions during day and night cycles; the effect is constant

• One Peakychu can replace dozens of individual light fixtures in terms of brightness contribution

Pokemon with Illuminate Specialty

Peakychu is the only Pokemon with the Illuminate specialty. According to the in-game lore, Peakychu used all her electricity to heal sick Pokemon friends, permanently draining her own energy and turning her normally yellow fur ghostly white. The Illuminate specialty in Pokopia is tied to that backstory; she illuminates the world she lives in.

How to Befriend Peakychu

Peakychu is found in Bleak Beach during the Brighten Things Up main quest line. Restoring her requires advancing the quest to its completion, after which Peakychu joins your settlement and immediately starts providing town-wide light.

Tips

• Peakychu's town-wide illumination is one of the most impactful early-game upgrades. Prioritize completing the Brighten Things Up quest line to unlock her.

• Even with Peakychu, you may still want to add specific light fixtures (Streetlights, Wall Torches) for visual aesthetics. Her effect is on brightness, not on visible light fixtures.

• Peakychu has a high view count among Pokemon NPC variants because of how dramatically she changes Bleak Beach's appearance.
