By placing a new building kit onto an existing structure, you can swap its design while keeping the same location. This only works on houses originally built with a building kit. 2122 How to Remodel (Step by Step)

2324 Get a matching building kit: Purchase or craft a new building kit from the PC Shop or find one while exploring. The kit must be the same size as the existing house. Check the kit's description to confirm its size category.Empty the house: Remove all furniture and all resident Pokemon from the building. The remodel will not proceed if anything remains inside. Store removed furniture in a nearby Storage Box so you can quickly refurnish afterward.Place the new kit: Set the new building kit down on top of the existing building. Walk up to the structure and place the kit as you would place any other item. The game will prompt you to confirm the remodel.Assign Builder Pokemon: A Pokemon with the Build specialty is always required for construction. Assign one or more Builder Pokemon to the project through the construction sign that appears.Wait for construction: Builder Pokemon will work on the remodel over time. The new exterior replaces the old one once construction finishes. Build times vary by kit size (see table above).Refurnish: After the remodel is complete, place your furniture back inside and reassign Pokemon residents. 3233 In addition to swapping styles, you can upgrade a house to a larger size by placing a bigger Building Kit over the existing structure. For example, placing a Cottage kit over a Hut will upgrade the Hut to a Cottage. The new structure replaces the old one and provides a larger interior and higher Pokemon capacity.

3436 However, you cannot downsize a house. A Cottage cannot be replaced with a Hut, and a House cannot be replaced with a Cottage.
