Revision 1

Festering Secret is a Tale in Phantom Blade Zero about the chain-sealed courtyard at the Weeping Creek Valley Outpost. Its evidence also contributes to Four Fierce Axes.

Quest details

Inspect the gate

Interact with the chained gate near the Outpost Bell and speak to both guards. To open it, continue from Outpost Courtyard to Peng Meng and defeat him for the Dread Axe. Its chain-breaking exploration ability works after acquisition even while the weapon is unequipped.

Enter the sealed courtyard

Return and break the chains. One Ironchain Gate Guard reports to the captain while the other accompanies you through the enemies ahead. Enter the house reached by the steps and defeat the Maskwalker inside to obtain a Sha-Chi Amber Fragment.

Deliver the captain's order

Confront the captain farther along the route. He gives you a written order to deliver to Lieutenant Fu. Travel to Long Pillar Overlook and speak to the Blue-Robed Swordsman, showing him the order to receive the Four Axes case-file evidence.

Present the evidence

Return to the captain at the Outpost and show him the evidence of Gu Lingran's crimes. This completes Festering Secret and lets you continue the linked case-file investigation.
