He is a Beetle Trainer devoted to catching, raising, and competing with beetles and other insects. Official material carries the character tagline Never Surrender, which matches how his failures are written: he misses the catch, shrugs, and goes again.44Appearance77Isaki is a fox-like character with pointed ears and a bushy tail. He dresses in sporty, slightly rugged clothing that suits his active outdoor lifestyle. He often carries a bug net or a small container for his beetle companions, and his outfits favor practical earth tones over decorative styling.99Personality1111Isaki is described as brave, courageous, and never gives up. He is energetic and enthusiastic, especially when talking about insects. He can be competitive and boastful about his beetles' abilities, but his excitement is genuine rather than arrogant. He loves being outdoors and is always looking for rare specimens.1313His enthusiasm can spill over into long monologues about beetle care, breeding lines, or the time he caught a particularly hard-to-find species. Most other neighbors regard him with a mix of fondness and patience for these conversations.1515Beetle Training1717Isaki catches and trains beetles for friendly competitions. This beetle-training activity is a unique gameplay feature tied to his character. Players can interact with Isaki to learn about catching insects, evaluating their suitability for training, and preparing them for matches.1919Bug catching uses the Bug Net tool, and successful captures progress both the player's collection in the Omni-Gallery and Isaki's own quest line. He provides tips on which bugs make strong battlers and which are mainly for display.2121Role2323Isaki introduces players to bug-catching activities. He provides tips on where to find different insect species, what conditions attract rare bugs, and how to care for captured specimens. His quests revolve around finding specific bugs or helping him prepare for beetle-training sessions.2525Like other Neighbors, Isaki has his own Planette that can be ranked up and a progression tree that unlocks insect-related rewards: better bug-catching tools, rare specimen lures, and beetle-themed decor. Completing his requests generates Luca.2727Friendship Storyline2929Early conversations focus on the basics of bug catching and his daily training routine. Mid-bond conversations get into the history of his beetle-training career and the rivalries he developed with other trainers. High-bond conversations open up his quieter side, including the bonds he forms with specific beetles he has raised from larvae.3131Gift Preferences3333Isaki favors bug-themed and outdoor-themed gifts: rare insects, leafy plants, sturdy outdoor gear, and crafted items related to his hobby. Decor pieces that lean toward refined indoor aesthetics tend to land less well. Items gathered from Farming or seasonal foraging that touch on his interests are reliable choices.3535Tips3737Bring a freshly caught beetle the first time you talk to Isaki each day. He reacts strongly to new specimens, and showing him one before a quest can speed up dialogue progression.3939Coordinate Bug Net upgrades with his quest line. The earliest tool upgrades unlock through his progression tree, so investing in his friendship pays back in catching efficiency.4141Details4343DetailInformationProfessionBattle Beetle TrainerSpeciesFoxPersonalityBrave, courageous, competitive, outdoorsySpecial activityBeetle training and friendly competitionsAssociated toolBug Net44+DetailInformationProfessionBeetle TrainerSpeciesFoxPersonalityBrave, courageous, competitive, outdoorsySpecial activityBeetle training and friendly competitionsAssociated toolBug Net45+A Note on His Profession46+Earlier material listed him as a Battle Beetle Trainer.
