Initial article on the fishing system
Fishing is a relaxing daily activity in Petit Planet. Players cast a bobber into water, wait for a bite, and reel in their catch. Fish can be used as cooking ingredients, donated to Mors' Omni-Gallery, or gifted to Neighbors. Like other activities, fishing consumes energy from the player's daily pool.
The player approaches a body of water and casts their line. A bobber floats on the surface, and the player waits for it to dip, indicating a fish has bitten. Timing the reel-in correctly determines whether the catch is successful. Different fishing spots and times of day yield different fish species.
Use | Description |
|---|---|
Cooking | Fish are ingredients in various cooking recipes. Prepared dishes can restore energy or be gifted to Neighbors. |
Omni-Gallery | Rare fish can be donated to Mors' museum, filling out the aquatic section of the gallery's catalogue. |
Gifts | Some Neighbors enjoy receiving specific fish species as gifts, increasing friendship levels. |
Selling | Fish can be sold for currency at Glenn's shop. |
Each fishing attempt costs a small amount of energy. Players must balance their fishing time against other energy-consuming activities like farming and mining. Eating cooked meals can restore energy, creating a cycle where fishing provides ingredients that help sustain further activity.
Different bodies of water on the player's planet and on remote islets during Starsea Voyages contain different fish populations. As the planet develops and new water features appear through Luca offerings, additional fishing spots become available.
