Initial version (2026-05-16)
Scouting Wraith is an agile elite enemy confirmed for Of Peaks and Tides in CyancookGames' February 2026 enemy reveal. The wraith combines precision war-bow archery with fast acrobatic melee, and wields enchanted weapons that constantly pressure the player to readjust their positioning and timing.
Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
Role | Agile elite enemy |
Combat Style | Hybrid: precision war-bow archery and acrobatic close-quarters melee |
Equipment | War bow plus enchanted weapons with variety of effects |
Tactical Pressure | Constantly shifts between ranged and close range; demands repositioning |
Confirmed In | February 2026 enemy reveal |
The wraith is built specifically to break players out of static positioning. Each enchanted weapon adds a different effect, so the player cannot find a single safe range and hold it for the whole fight. Standing still long enough to charge a bow shot or commit a heavy attack is dangerous against this enemy.
Recommended responses pulled from the reveal include:
Move constantly: the wraith punishes any stationary pattern. Treat the encounter like a fencing match rather than a turret duel.
Anticipate the swap: it shifts between bow and melee rapidly. Carry a load-out that handles both ranges instead of optimizing for one.
Read enchantments: each variant of the wraith's weaponry brings a different status or effect; read the cue and rotate consumables accordingly.
Use terrain: the open terrain of Everland is part of the kit. Force the wraith into chokes that limit its acrobatic mobility.
The scouting wraith fits a recon-and-skirmish role consistent with its name. It is well suited to fast-pace patrol encounters around ruins, watchtowers, and chokepoints, where its mobility and dual ranges are most threatening. Expect the wraith to appear as a mid-tier elite presence in areas where The Nolands attempt to rebuild near contested ground.
