Unlock and investigation

Reach Hunter Level 8 and read Taygedo's message, then speak with him at Eibon. Investigate the marked vending machines, listen to the nearby conversation and question the Anomaly Hunters. Either offered dialogue response advances the information-gathering step.

Buy ice cream at the marked cart and return to set the first vending-machine ambush. Defeat Tomato Devil, buy Tomato Jelly from the next machine and take Lacrimosa home. Return to Adler, check the items on the dormitory table after Taygedo's scene, then sleep.

The evening ambush

Visit Lacrimosa's home to wake her. Set the clock to 19:00; the next step is available between 19:00 and 20:00. Follow the marker toward the vending machine for another Tomato Devil encounter.

When the boss retreats at low HP, pursue her in flight and dodge the incoming attacks. The rooftop fight begins with her HP restored. Keep fighting until the concluding cutscene, then return to Eibon and speak with Adler.

Tomato Devil encounters

The quest contains three fights: the first ambush, the evening confrontation and the rooftop finish. Tomato Devil is weak to Chaos and has no listed elemental resistance. Watch for slashes, broad cleaves and the ground slam. Critical Dodges and counters create openings without committing to a long attack while the slam is approaching.

A low-HP retreat during an earlier encounter is a story transition. Continue the pursuit and objectives to reach the final battle.
