Skia is an A-Rank Lakshana Esper affiliated with the Bureau of Anomaly Control, serving as a lieutenant in ETD-4. Known by his title Shadow Hound Operative, Skia is a wolf-man who fights with claws and teeth while wielding shadow-based abilities to suppress and control his targets. His noir detective aesthetic, complete with a tailored suit, matches his serious and composed personality. Professional to a fault, his signature quote captures his no-nonsense attitude: "The paperwork you need is on the desk."

As a member of ETD-4, Skia works alongside Fadia and Lacrimosa. The unit departed Hethereau to handle the Hypervortex catastrophe in New Helios, making them central figures in the ongoing anomaly crisis.

Shadow Pool Phasing

Skia's most distinctive combat mechanic is his ability to transform into a shadow pool and pass through enemies. When activating Shadow Hound Chase or holding movement and dodge simultaneously, Skia sinks into the ground and becomes a flat shadow that slides across surfaces. In this state, he is completely immune to all damage and cannot be targeted by enemy attacks or tracking abilities.

While phasing through the ground, Skia deals Lakshana damage to every enemy he passes through. The damage triggers once per enemy per phasing pass, meaning that positioning his shadow to cut through multiple enemies in a single line maximizes his damage output. The phasing state lasts for several seconds, giving players enough time to reposition behind dangerous enemies, escape surrounded situations, or chase down targets that are trying to retreat.

The phasing mechanic also serves a tactical role in the Bureau of Anomaly Control's ETD-4 unit operations. Skia can scout ahead through walls and obstacles, identify enemy positions without being detected, and then emerge from shadow form to deliver a surprise attack.
