Comprehensive character update with full combat abilities, awakening nodes, and backstory
Lacrimosa is an S-Rank Chaos Esper in Neverness to Everness. She holds the title of Sleepy Construct Master and wields Esper Constructs as her weapon. Lacrimosa is affiliated with ETD-4, a squad within the Bureau of Anomaly Control.
Lacrimosa is perpetually exhausted, preferring to let her constructs handle the bulk of her work whenever possible. She is also obsessed with tomatoes, a quirk that extends into both her personal life and her combat abilities.
As a member of ETD-4, Lacrimosa works alongside teammates such as Baicang (the squad captain), Skia, and Fadia. Despite her constant drowsiness and apparent lack of motivation, Lacrimosa is a highly capable Esper whose construct-based abilities make her one of the most versatile damage dealers in the squad.
Her obsession with tomatoes is a defining personality trait. Tomato-themed naming conventions appear throughout her combat kit, and she is known to incorporate tomatoes into her daily meals, snacks, and even her approach to problem-solving. Fellow ETD-4 members have learned not to question this fixation.
Lacrimosa's combat kit centers on the Nightmare debuff, a stacking damage-over-time effect that she applies through nearly all of her abilities. Her constructs allow her to deal damage from range while maintaining distance, and her kit includes the unique ability to duplicate enemy mobs.
Ability | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
Basic Attack | Sweet and Sour | Performs up to 5 attacks via esper constructs. Each hit inflicts Nightmare, dealing 1 Chaos DMG per second. Nightmare is stackable up to 10 times. Healing effects on the target remove Nightmare stacks (before Awakening). |
Skill (Press) | Morning Tomato | Throws constructs at enemies, dealing Chaos DMG and applying Nightmare stacks. |
Skill (Hold) | Devilish Gift | Creates duplicate mobs that mimic the original enemy's abilities, turning the enemy's own attacks against them. |
Ultimate | Working Day Judgement | Summons a gigantic construct that deals 5 instances of Chaos DMG to a large area and applies Nightmare to all targets hit. |
QTE | Microwake | Deploys constructs that deal Chaos DMG in an area around Lacrimosa. |
Passive 1 | Tomato Banquet | When Discord is triggered on an enemy, reduces the target's Break cap by 10% for 60 seconds. This effect stacks up to a maximum reduction of 30%. |
Passive 2 | Sleep In | After casting Sweet and Sour 5 times during the skill cooldown period, gains +1 additional Morning Tomato use. |
Passive 3 | Sleepwalk | Transforms into a bat for free flight out of combat. Bat form costs stamina to maintain. |
Lacrimosa's Awakening nodes progressively transform her Nightmare mechanic from a simple debuff into a devastating damage engine:
Node | Effect |
|---|---|
A1 | +50% Nightmare application ratio, increasing the rate at which stacks accumulate. |
A4 | Healing effects no longer remove Nightmare stacks. Instead, healing reduces the target's max HP by 200% of the Nightmare's damage value. |
A6 | +15% damage for 15 seconds after performing an Entry Attack. |
The A4 node is particularly significant because it reverses the standard Nightmare weakness. Before A4, enemies could cleanse Nightmare stacks through healing. After A4, attempting to heal actually punishes the target by reducing their maximum HP, making Lacrimosa far more dangerous in prolonged engagements.
Lacrimosa's bat transformation (Sleepwalk passive) is one of the few out-of-combat traversal abilities in the game, giving her unique exploration utility.
Her name, "Lacrimosa," means "weeping" in Latin, which contrasts with her sleepy, unbothered personality.
The Devilish Gift ability to duplicate enemy mobs is mechanically unique among all Espers, letting her turn encounters into chaotic multi-faction battles.
Her tomato obsession extends to the naming of her abilities: "Sweet and Sour," "Morning Tomato," and "Tomato Banquet" all reference food preparation.
