Overview
Hunter's Crucible is a recurring combat-challenge activity in Neverness to Everness. Each run opens a ladder of escalating fights and pays rewards for clearing successive tiers. It is not tied to a single patch: the activity first ran as a named event in Version 1.1 and returned in Version 1.3 with a fresh set of challenge stages built around different bosses.
Format
Hunter's Crucible is built around escalating combat encounters. Each successive challenge fields tougher enemies, so clears reward team strength and well-built rotations rather than exploration or collection.
Its first outing was one of several combat-focused additions in the Dreamwalk Corridor cycle, alongside the Underground Circuit racing mode and the Fight Club hand-to-hand activity.

Version 1.1 Run
The first run opened on June 18 at 10:00 and closed on July 8 at 05:59, 2026 (UTC+8). It was a combat-challenge activity: players took on a series of opponents that grew progressively more difficult, earning rewards for clearing each successive tier.
Clearing Hunter's Crucible challenges awarded the following. The per-tier amounts have not been published, so the reward types below are confirmed while the exact quantities are documented as players surface them:
Reward | Type |
|---|---|
Feast Champion | Cosmetic title |
Gacha currency | |
City currency | |
Esper progression material | |

Version 1.3 Run
Hunter's Crucible returned with Version 1.3 "Rising from the Moonlit Fog" on August 19, 2026, running to September 30, 2026 at 05:59 (UTC+8). Version 1.3 introduces the return with the line "Steel is forged in fire. Hunters are forged by worthier prey."
The run adds new challenge stages built around two anomalies rather than repeating the Version 1.1 opponent set, and clearing stages accumulates event points that feed the run's headline cosmetic.
Reward | Type |
|---|---|
"Hunter's Crucible - Steel Tempered" | Event title. Its visual effects are dynamic and upgrade as event points accumulate. |
Gacha currency | |
Board currency | |
City currency | |
Elite Hunter Guides | Esper progression material |

Featured Bosses
The Version 1.3 stages are built on two anomalies that also appear elsewhere in the world. Their element affinities in those standard encounters are a reasonable starting point for team building.
Boss | Standard Encounter | Element Weakness |
|---|---|---|
Story boss, fought through an anomaly commission | Lakshana | |
Anomaly Pilgrimage target at Green Wall Slope, on a weekly reset | Cosmos |
Those weaknesses describe each anomaly's standard encounter. The level, stat tuning, and any modifiers applied to their Hunter's Crucible stages have not been detailed separately.
