Neverness to Everness is built on Unreal Engine 5 and features advanced rendering technology on PC, including full ray tracing, path tracing, and NVIDIA DLSS 4 support. The graphics settings menu offers players fine-grained control over visual quality and performance, accessible through the Settings menu by pressing Escape and selecting the Graphics tab.
The game supports full ray tracing and path tracing on PC. Path tracing enhances lighting, reflections, and shadows by tracing the path of light rays through the scene, producing more physically accurate visuals than traditional rasterized rendering. This is particularly noticeable in Hethereau's urban environments, where reflective surfaces like glass buildings, wet streets, and vehicle bodywork benefit from accurate real-time reflections.

Ray tracing was showcased as early as Gamescom 2024, where Hotta Studio demonstrated full ray tracing during the Hethereau trailer. The path tracing implementation builds on this foundation, offering the highest-fidelity lighting mode available in the game.
Neverness to Everness supports NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation on PC. DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) uses AI to upscale lower-resolution frames to the target resolution, significantly boosting frame rates while maintaining visual quality. The Multi-Frame Generation feature, new to DLSS 4, generates multiple interpolated frames per rendered frame for even higher perceived smoothness.
DLSS Frame Generation requires an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series GPU and "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" must be enabled in Windows settings. If players with a 40-series card experience frequent crashes, the official PC Setup Guide recommends turning Frame Generation off in the Graphics settings as a troubleshooting step.
NVIDIA Reflex support was announced alongside DLSS integration in July 2024. Reflex reduces system latency by synchronizing the CPU and GPU, resulting in more responsive input. This is particularly beneficial during fast-paced combat encounters where input timing matters for dodging, parrying, and chaining abilities.
The graphics menu includes upscaling settings with multiple quality modes. Players who are experiencing lower frame rates can set upscaling to Performance mode, which renders at a lower internal resolution and uses DLSS to reconstruct the image. The available upscaling presets offer a range from Quality (highest internal resolution) to Performance (lowest internal resolution, highest FPS gain).
Upscaling Mode | Internal Resolution | Best For |
|---|---|---|
Quality | Highest | Players with high-end GPUs who prioritize visual clarity |
Balanced | Medium-High | Good balance of visual quality and frame rate |
Performance | Medium | Significant FPS boost with acceptable quality |
Ultra Performance | Lowest | Maximum FPS; noticeable quality loss at close inspection |
The graphics menu provides overall quality presets that adjust multiple settings simultaneously. Players can choose a preset as a starting point and then fine-tune individual options. Lowering quality settings and setting upscaling to Performance mode is the primary recommendation from the official PC Setup Guide for players experiencing frame rate issues.
The official Co-Ex Test PC Setup Guide offered several recommendations for optimal performance:
Tip | Details |
|---|---|
Install on SSD | The game should be installed on a solid-state drive. Running it from a traditional hard drive causes map loading issues and performance problems due to the large open-world streaming requirements of Unreal Engine 5. |
GPU Scheduling | Enable "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" in Windows settings, especially when using DLSS Frame Generation on RTX 40-series cards. |
Virtual Memory | Ensure adequate virtual memory is configured. The official guide recommends checking virtual memory settings if experiencing stability issues. |
Driver Updates | Keep GPU drivers up to date. NVIDIA Game Ready drivers released around the launch window typically include specific optimizations for new titles. |
For detailed hardware specifications, see the System Requirements article. The minimum spec calls for an Intel i7-10700 and GTX 1660 with 16 GB of RAM, while the recommended spec targets an i7-12700 with an RTX 3060 and 32 GB of RAM. At least 60 GB of storage space is required, preferably on an SSD.
Note: Additional graphics options and optimal settings guides will be added after launch on April 29, 2026.
