The first three 999 Nights dungeon bosses are Molten Dragon, Frostspike Dragon and Scroll-Leaf Scorpion. Their story fights advance the Warren journey toward Crimson Castle. They use the tabletop mode's party levels and equipment.
Boss | Story level | Dungeon | Preparation |
|---|---|---|---|
Molten Dragon | 20 | Chocolate Volcano | Around party level 15 |
Frostspike Dragon | 30 | Milk Ice Mountain | Around party level 25 |
Scroll-Leaf Scorpion | 40 | Amber Syrup Lake | Around party level 35 |
Molten Dragon
Watch for the red glint when it burrows and bursts up from beneath the party. Time a dodge and critical riposte around the emergence. Prolonged attacks at its flank can provoke a broad sideways roll; leave space to dodge out. When it lowers its head and presents the horns, move out of the coming charge and punish the opening.
Many attacks leave lava close to the body. Keep moving between attack windows so that staying in melee range does not also mean standing in lava. Defeating the dragon advances the story to Milk Ice Mountain.
Frostspike Dragon
A raised head warns of the breath attack. Continue dodging for the full breath duration and take riposte openings. Its arm combo has two initial swipes to dodge, followed by a large two-arm swipe that can be parried. That final parry deals substantial Break damage and creates a short vulnerable window.
The dragon spends time beyond melee reach. Save short damage windows until it lands, or maintain an equipment setup that applies Crimson Flame, White Lightflame or Eclipseflame Mark during the airborne intervals. Defeating it advances the story to Amber Syrup Lake.
Scroll-Leaf Scorpion
Its slow swipe windups give useful perfect-dodge and critical-riposte opportunities. After taking enough damage, it burrows and repeatedly breaches the surface toward the party. Dodge the repeated lunges, then watch for the final plunge: that finishing attack can be parried for Break damage and a brief opening.
A coordinated stack-based debuff setup helps turn these openings into damage. Check that the party's equipment applies the intended effect before relying on a rotation. The scorpion's defeat opens the final Crimson Castle chapter.
Drops and preparation
These bosses drop Warren equipment that can be identified or unidentified. Appraise unfamiliar drops at a bonfire or appraiser, then compare their effects and class requirements before equipping or salvaging them. Exact drop rarity depends on the encounter and difficulty; the story level table is not a drop guarantee.
For the final story fight, see Crimson Dragon. The class build guide describes one connected White Lightflame setup.
