Guns & Dragons sends players against hordes of monsters in caverns, dungeons and villages. The Steam page promises a formidable boss and says players will take down monsters, even dragons. As of October 2026 only a handful of enemies have been named in official material.

Enemy | Type | What is known |
|---|---|---|
Goblins | Regular enemies | Named by the studio, alongside other foes, as enemies to take down in the second playtest |
Ogre Chief | Tough named enemy | An official short video from August 2026 says it takes serious firepower to bring down; whether it is a boss had not been stated as of October 2026 |
Mimic | Disguised enemy | Looks like normal loot; using a Warpstone can lead players into it, and beating it can give powerful rewards |
Elite enemies | Elite Encounter | Tough mid-level fights designed to test a squad's build |
Chapter boss | Boss | The first playtest run ended at the first boss; its name had not been published as of October 2026 |
Dragons | Not detailed | Promised on the store page; the director said a paid Early Access release should at least let players defeat a dragon |
Elite Encounters are mid-level battles against powerful enemies, built to put a squad's build to the test. A store screenshot shows the in-game alert An Elite enemy has appeared! Take it down! In his gamescom 2026 interview, director Park Jun-woo said each zone's boss is designed together with that zone's elite monsters so the two feel connected.
An official short video from September 2026 explains that using a Warpstone can lead players straight into the Mimic, a sneaky enemy disguised as normal loot. Defeating it can earn powerful rewards.
The director described the team's rules for boss design. A player who watches calmly and has basic reflexes should be able to clear a boss on the first try, and players who are weaker mechanically should still have tactical ways through. For the first boss, attacks can be dodged by jumping, or avoided by using the pillars around the arena, and there are platforming elements designed around jumping. He said later bosses would build on that, and the team planned to add two or more boss types within Chapter 1 alone.
Monsters track players closely, which makes attacking from behind hard when playing solo. The director said the game includes a backstab mechanic that rewards hits from behind with bonus damage, and in co-op players can spread out and split aggro to set those hits up. In co-op, difficulty settings such as monster spawns and health scale with the squad. See Co-op Multiplayer.
After the first playtest, players reported monsters rushing them from too close when they entered a new space. The director said spawn distances and doors that lock behind players during fights were being reconsidered.
When the second playtest ended on September 30, 2026, the studio acknowledged that enemy variety had been limited with only Chapter 1 available. The next playtest, planned for November 2026, is set to add Chapter 2. See Playtests.
