Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the seventh main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series and the successor to Grand Theft Auto V.

Release Date

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC release is expected to follow at a later date.

Setting

The game is set in the fictional U.S. state of Leonida, based on Florida. The setting primarily features the neon-soaked metropolis of Vice City, inspired by Miami, along with surrounding areas including Grassrivers (based on the Everglades), the Leonida Keys (Florida Keys), and other locations.

Story

The game follows the romantic criminal duo of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. When an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, caught in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida.

Jason and Lucia must rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive, navigating through a world of grifters, drug runners, and dangerous criminals.

Reception

The first trailer received over 475 million views within 24 hours, surpassing all previous records for a video game trailer. GTA VI won Most Wanted Game at the Golden Joystick Awards and Most Anticipated Game at The Game Awards in both 2024 and 2025.
