The FITS System

Added skins-vs-FITS clarification; light cleanup
The FITS system is a new customization feature introduced in Final Fantasy VII Revelation. By equipping unique outfits, party members gain new movesets that evoke classic Final Fantasy job archetypes, adding a fresh layer of flexibility to the battle system.
FITS stands for Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear. Rather than changing who a character is, an outfit reshapes how they fight, swapping in a themed set of abilities so players can tailor each hero to a preferred playstyle.
The reveal highlighted outfits that channel iconic jobs from across the Final Fantasy series. Official examples include a Black Mage set focused on offensive magic and a Warrior set focused on physical power.
FITS Outfit | Playstyle Shown |
|---|---|
Warrior | Physical, close-range power, shown on Cloud Strife in the reveal. |
Black Mage | Offensive spellcasting, shown on a party member in the reveal. |
The director has clarified that the appearance-only skins some players want are a separate feature from FITS. A FITS outfit changes how a character fights, while cosmetic skins are handled on their own. The number of FITS outfits available to each character has not yet been detailed. The system is positioned as the Remake trilogy’s take on the long-running Final Fantasy job tradition.
