Veritas of the Dark is the antagonist of Final Fantasy Resonance, a man clad in black armor who shatters the Earth Crystal and then turns his power on the Kingdom of Grandshelt. Ian Sinclair voices him in English and Akio Otsuka in Japanese.

One of the Sworn Six of Paladia

Official material identifies Veritas of the Dark as one of the Sworn Six of Paladia. The group's name is the only thing confirmed about it: no other member has been named in any official source for this game, and nothing has been said about what the Sworn Six are or what they want. The name implies other members, but none has been identified.

Role in the Story

Veritas of the Dark appears suddenly before the knights Rain and Lasswell in the innermost chamber of the Earth Shrine. Overwhelming them with his immense power, he destroys the Earth Crystal before their eyes. He then launches an assault on Grandshelt itself; the knights manage to rescue the king but are crushed a second time. His stated goal drives the entire plot: he schemes to annihilate all the Crystals, and the heroes' journey is a pursuit of him across the world. The full sequence of events is at Story and Setting.

Connections

One other announced character is tied directly to him: a mysterious woman, her name withheld in official materials, who is bound to Veritas of the Dark by a deep enmity and travels alongside Bahamut.
