Magic pots are one-time item-feeding encounters. Cactuar enemies are repeat encounter targets with high evasion. Prepare for their different mechanics before spending rare items or building a farming route.
Magic pot requests
Pot | Use on the pot | Base MRP | Locations or availability |
|---|---|---|---|
Citrine Pot | Ether | 120 | Siren's Tower; Mobliz Shipyard |
Viridian Pot | Mist Ether | 200 | Wind Shrine; Water Shrine |
Crimson Pot | Turbo Ether | 350 | Chapter 4 |
Azure Pot | Mist Turbo Ether | 400 | Arcane Library; Tower of Mysidia |
Violet Pot | X-Ether | 800 | Chapter 6 |
Pearly Pot | Elixir | 1,200 | Chapter 8 |
Target the pot itself with the required item. Regular damage cannot solve the encounter: attacks inflict only one damage and the pot restores its HP. After victory the pot loses its glow and cannot be claimed again. Equip the Visions being trained before beginning.
For the early Ether-fed encounters, see Citrine Pot.
For the Wind Shrine route, see Viridian Pot.
In the Arcane Library, take the elevator marked I, continue up the stairs to the right and search the leftmost side of that floor for an Azure Pot. Another is on the climb through the Tower of Mysidia.
Cactuar types
Enemy | HP | Base MRP / with Stagger Finish | Area |
|---|---|---|---|
Minituar | 111 | 40 / 52 | Grandshelt desert east of Grandport and Marauder Cave, Chapter 1 |
Cactuar | 1,111 | 220 / 286 | Southern Zoldaad, Chapter 4; additional airship locations later |
Gigantuar | 11,111 | 600 | Gronoa near Sanctissimus Shrine or northeast of Catacumba Cave, Chapter 6; near Dragon's Maw later |
Metal Minituar | 6 | EXP target | Around Dwarven Forge, Chapter 2 |
Metal Cactuar | 6 | EXP target | Near Jotunn Cave in Mysidia, Chapter 5 |
Minituars, Cactuars and Gigantuars are weak to Ice and Water and immune to Earth. Use multi-hit or guaranteed-hit attacks to reduce the stagger gauge. Staggering stops their evasion. Barrage hits four times and is guaranteed to connect; a random-target skill can spread its hits when several enemies remain.
The two listed metal enemies take only one damage per hit and can flee if the battle lasts too long. Their six HP makes separate successful hits more useful than a large damage number. Their EXP rewards and later Metal Gigantuar locations are listed in the farming guide.
For EXP routes and reward bonuses, see Early EXP and MRP Farming.
