Square Enix detailed the system on August 24, 2026: magicite found along the journey awakens a Vision, granting it stronger abilities along with higher-level skills and magic. The supply is limited, so spending it is a decision rather than a routine.

Because the supply is finite, Square Enix frames the choice of which Visions to awaken as one the player has to make rather than a checklist to finish. Affinity rises by fighting battles with that Vision equipped, and Mastery Ranks accumulate from mastery points earned in battle; neither draws on the magicite supply.
