Release and Platforms
When does Edge of Memories come out?
December 3, 2026. The Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation and Xbox unlocks 48 hours earlier, on December 1, 2026. The date was previously November 5, 2026 and moved on October 13, 2026. See Release Date and Platforms.
Why was it delayed?
As reported, the team said the end of the year had become crowded, with larger games in the same genre releasing around the original date, and that the extra time would allow more quality-of-life improvements.
Which platforms is it on?
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. On PC it is sold on Steam, and Xbox buyers also get the PC version through the Microsoft Store thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere. Steam lists Windows only.
Is it coming to Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2?
As of October 2026, no Nintendo version had been announced in any store listing or press release.
Is it on Game Pass?
As of October 2026, none of the Xbox Store product pages listed Game Pass.
Is it verified for Steam Deck?
As of October 2026, no Steam Deck verification status had been announced. The Steam page does list full controller support. PC specifications are on the PC System Requirements page.
Gameplay
Is the combat turn-based?
No. The developers have said it is an action game and not turn-based. Fights happen in real time and are built around combos, perfect dodges, companion skills and a transformation known as Berserk mode or Black Beast mode. See Combat.
Can I play as the companions?
No. Eline is the only playable character. Ysoris and Kanta accompany her in exploration and combat, and players can use their skills in fights. See Companions.
Is there co-op or multiplayer?
Every store lists the game as single-player. As of October 2026, no co-op or multiplayer mode had been announced.
Is it an open world?
No. The developers have said there are "more open sections where you're able to explore more freely, but this isn't an open world". There is no climbing or swimming. Areas do change as the Corrosion spreads, opening new paths. See Exploration.
How long is the game?
As of October 2026, no playtime estimate had been given. New Game Plus and a photo mode had not been announced either.
Story and Series
Do I need to play Edge of Eternity first?
No. The developers have said the game is self-contained: it shares a world with Edge of Eternity and takes place after that game's events, but on a different continent with a different cast. The premise is on the Story page.
Who is the main character?
Eline, an itinerant Soul Whisperer who can control the Corrosion within her own body and who has traded parts of her memory for powers.
Audio and Languages
Does it have Japanese voice acting?
Yes. Steam lists full audio in English and Japanese. The Japanese dub was revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2026. As of October 2026, the English and Japanese voice casts had not been named in official material.
Which other languages are supported?
Interface and subtitles are also available in French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Polish, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Portuguese (Brazil).
Who composed the music?
Cédric Menendez leads the score, with music by Yasunori Mitsuda and Mariam Abounnasr and vocals by Emi Evans and Marion Schneider. See Music and Soundtrack.
Buying and Demo
What is in the Digital Deluxe Edition?
The base game, the Legacy, Nekaroo and French History costume packs, a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack and 48 hours of early access. See Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses.
Can I pre-order on Steam?
No. Steam does not take pre-orders for the game. Instead, PC players who buy on Steam at launch, and for a period after it, receive the Legacy Costume Pack.
Is there a demo?
A free demo covering the first chapter ran on Steam from June 15 to June 30, 2026. The team was reported to have said it returns in early November 2026 with changes made since. See Steam Demo.
Does the game use generative AI?
A developer said in June 2026 that it does not.
