A free demo of Edge of Memories was available on Steam from June 15 to June 30, 2026, as part of Steam Next Fest. It covered the opening hours of the game, the first chapter, in which Eline meets Ysoris. The demo introduced the world, the story, the main characters and the basics of Combat.
The demo was time-limited. A June 26, 2026 developer update said it would stop working after June 30, even for players who had already downloaded it.

What Players Learned in the Demo
According to the demo announcement, the first chapter teaches players to trigger powerful attacks from their allies while building combos and dodging enemy abilities. It also included a crafting tutorial. The companions introduced in the demo are covered on the Companions page.
Feedback and Fixes
In its June 26, 2026 update, the team listed the feedback it had received and what it planned to change. Later posts confirmed some of those changes for launch.
