Defilade has announced cooperative and versus multiplayer, while a grand single-player campaign remains a development goal. The game is listed as Coming soon; these announcements do not represent a public released build.
Announced multiplayer
The developer says multiplayer is already working during development. Players are intended to cooperate with a friend against the AI or fight each other.
Mode | Announced support |
|---|---|
Single-player | Listed as a game mode. |
PvP | Online and LAN play. |
Co-op | Online and LAN play against the AI. |
Cross-platform multiplayer | Listed as an announced feature. |
Planned grand campaign
The developer's campaign goal is a huge fictional map in a modern setting. Two superpowers, described as blue and red, fight proxy wars for control of a large country. The campaign remains planned; the published campaign outline does not name missions or map locations.
The proposed campaign would let soldiers level up and carry over between missions. Soldier deaths would be permanent in that campaign design.
This planned persistent-soldier system is distinct from the announced battle recovery mechanics in Wounded Soldiers and Medics, where medic tents can retrieve and restore casualties, including dead soldiers.
