Prisoners are part of Defilade's developer-described prerelease combat system. Captured soldiers can disclose information about the opposing base.
Surrender
Surrender is rare. A soldier cut off under fire, with the rest of the squad down, may throw away their rifle and raise their hands. The developer describes this as a possible reaction rather than a guaranteed result of isolation.
Capture and intelligence
When the Rebels capture a soldier, they escort the prisoner into their tunnel system and interrogate them. The prisoner gives live information about the player's base, visible in a chat dialog. Base Building covers the Rebel tunnel systems described for the game.
The player's forces can also take prisoners. Those prisoners give up intelligence during the march back. The developer has not specified intelligence ranges, reveal duration or capture rewards.
