The Sunset Reed Cloth Boots are a piece of Footwear in Crimson Desert and part of the Sunset Reed equipment set. These cloth boots combine respectable combat stats with a Movement Speed Lv.2 bonus, making them a strong choice for players who want to stay mobile during fights. With 12 ATK and 5 DEF, they offer a balanced stat line that works well in both offensive and defensive situations.
The boots are hidden inside a secret room within the Sanctum of Absolution, accessible west of the Reedwind Valley Abyss Nexus. Reaching them requires some platforming and the use of a specific combat move to reveal the hidden chamber.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Footwear (Cloth) |
Attack | 12 |
Defense | 5 |
Movement Speed | Lv.2 |
Max Refinement | 10 |
The Sunset Reed Cloth Boots are found inside a secret room within the Sanctum of Absolution. The sanctum is located west of the Reedwind Valley Abyss Nexus. Getting to the boots requires navigating the sanctum's interior and finding a hidden platform.
Travel to the Sanctum of Absolution, located west of the Reedwind Valley Abyss Nexus.
Enter the sanctum and navigate to the highest point inside the structure.
Look for a horizontal platform sticking out of the wall. It may not be immediately visible from below.
Stand on the edge of the platform and charge a Force Palm strike, then hit the wall to flip the platform and reveal the hidden room.
Enter the secret chamber and open the treasure chest to collect the Sunset Reed Cloth Boots.
This footwear cannot be purchased from any known merchant. It is only available through exploration within the sanctum.
The Movement Speed Lv.2 bonus increases the player's base movement speed while the boots are equipped. At Lv.2, this is a noticeable improvement over Lv.1 movement speed bonuses found on many other footwear options. Faster movement speed helps with dodging enemy attacks, repositioning during combat, and simply covering ground faster when exploring the open world.
This effect stacks with other sources of movement speed, including Abyss Cores, food buffs, and headgear bonuses. Players building a speed-focused setup can achieve significantly faster movement by combining multiple sources.
The Sunset Reed equipment set includes several pieces scattered across different locations:
Sunset Reed Cloth Gloves (Gloves, 11 ATK, 1 DEF, Attack Speed Lv.1)
Sunset Reed Leather Cloak (Cloak, 2 DEF, Lightning Resistance Lv.3, found in Castlewood Ruins)
Sunset Reed Cloth Boots (Footwear, 12 ATK, 5 DEF, Movement Speed Lv.2, found in Sanctum of Absolution)
Crimson Desert does not award formal set bonuses for wearing matching equipment. Each Sunset Reed piece is evaluated on its own stats and effects. That said, the set overall favors mobility and speed, with Attack Speed on the gloves and Movement Speed on the boots.
As cloth footwear, the Sunset Reed Cloth Boots use cloth-type materials for Refinement upgrades at any blacksmith. Cloth Pieces and Fleece are needed at lower refinement levels. Higher levels require rarer fabrics and Abyss Artifacts. Each refinement level increases both the attack and defense base stats.
The Sunset Reed Cloth Boots offer 12 ATK and 5 DEF with Movement Speed Lv.2. Compared to the Radiant Plate Boots (16 ATK, Fire Resistance Lv.1, Swim Speed +2%), the Sunset Reed boots trade raw attack power for higher defense and overland movement speed. The Plate Boots of the Shadows (16 ATK, 7 DEF, Climb Speed +2%) offer superior stats overall but are found later in the game and require exploring a different hidden location.
For early-to-mid game progression, the Sunset Reed Cloth Boots are an excellent option. The combination of 5 DEF and Movement Speed Lv.2 makes them versatile enough for both combat encounters and open-world exploration.
The Movement Speed Lv.2 bonus makes these boots ideal for players who prefer a hit-and-run combat style. The extra speed helps you dodge attacks and reposition between combos.
The Sanctum of Absolution contains other treasures beyond the boots. Explore the full sanctum while you are there to collect everything.
At 5 DEF, these boots offer more protection than many cloth armor pieces. Combined with the movement speed bonus, they are a good fit for light-armor builds that rely on evasion rather than raw damage absorption.
The Force Palm trick to reveal the hidden room is not obvious. If you are stuck, try hitting walls on protruding platforms while standing at the sanctum's highest level.
