The Sotdae of Bond is an inventory item added in Patch 1.04.00 that lets the player tame wild birds. It is awarded as a quest reward by completing the Authorized Access section of the broader Trembling Woods faction quest for the Pororin Forest Guardians, given by the NPC Arkin in Pororin Village. The questline begins after the player has been tranquilized three times approaching the village. The Sotdae is the entry point into the new bird category of Pets introduced in the same update.

The Sotdae of Bond functions as a placeable feeder rather than a consumable. Set it down on the ground in an open area where birds fly, load it with the food the target species prefers, and then keep your distance until birds land to feed. Each successful feed increases trust with that bird until it crosses the registration threshold and can be tamed as a pet.
Place the Sotdae on a flat surface that birds visit. Cliff tops, hill crests, and open clearings near a bird's flight path produce the best results. Confined spaces under a roof or inside a town rarely attract anything.
Load the feeder with the food the target bird actually eats. Different species have different preferences; the wrong food still feeds them but does not raise trust as quickly.
Stand back. Birds will not approach if the player is too close. Crouch behind cover or move to a far enough distance for the icons to indicate the bird has been seen.
Repeat the feed cycle. Trust builds gradually with each visit; once the bar fills the bird can be confirmed as a pet from the same prompt that the cat and dog taming flow uses.

The cliff lines around Pororin Village. The terrain that frames the village is on the standard flight path for crows and small songbirds.
Hilltops south of Hernand. Open sky above grassland; falcons and eagles cycle through these zones.
Forest edges in Demeniss. Owls and a handful of woodland songbirds visit the Sotdae here, especially during dusk.
The Crimson Desert region (Trader's Expanse). Desert-specific species such as Desert Goose and Sand Grouse appear here.
The Sotdae of Bond is the gateway item to the bird category, which is brand new in 1.04. Combined with the five new cat varieties, the Abyss Heuklang reclassification, and the existing dog and horse roster, the tameable pet pool expanded substantially in 1.04.
