The Sanctum of Temperance is one of six Sanctums scattered across the continent of Pywel in Crimson Desert. Like all Sanctums, it is described as a place imbued with spiritual power, reportedly created in the ancient past to restore the world and its providence. The Antumbra revere Sanctums as sacred ground because of the immense power they hold. The Sanctum of Temperance is often the first Sanctum that players encounter during their journey.
The Sanctum of Temperance is associated with the Third Edict, which declares: "Restrain all things to reach the Void through eternal silence. Yield not to even the strongest temptation."
Sanctums become accessible after White Crow the Witch is unlocked as an NPC merchant during Chapter 5 of the main story. Once unlocked, she assigns a quest to cleanse all six Sanctums throughout the world. Players can set waypoints to any Sanctum through their quest journal.
The Sanctum of Temperance puzzle involves restoring power to the structure by finding missing components and reassembling them. Below is a step-by-step guide to cleansing this Sanctum.
When you first arrive at the Sanctum of Temperance, a horde of enemies will be occupying the area. Defeat all of them before you can begin working on the puzzle itself.
The power source for this Sanctum is found underneath the structure. Jump through a hole in the ground to reach the space below, then use Axiom Force to grab the power cube and carry it back up to the surface.
Look at the square holes around the Sanctum's base. One of them is missing its cell. Place the power cube in front of the empty slot, then use Force Palm to punch it into position.
Inspect the pillars surrounding the Sanctum. One of them is missing its top section. The missing piece is located inside a nearby building to the right of the Sanctum, but the building is covered in thick vines that block access.
To clear the vines blocking the pillar piece, you can either shoot a fire arrow at them or use the Blinding Flash ability to focus sunlight and burn them away. Once the vines are cleared, grab the pillar top with Axiom Force.
Carry the pillar top back to the broken pillar and place it on the support structure. With the pillar restored and the power cube installed, the Sanctum of Temperance is cleansed.
Cleansing the Sanctum of Temperance rewards Abyss Artifacts, which are spent on upgrading skills, increasing character attributes, and enhancing equipment. Completing all six Sanctums fulfills the Witch's cleansing quest.
