Expanded stub with full trading mechanics, vendor details, quests, and connected locations
The Royal Trading Post is an official trading facility located in the City of Hernand within the Hernand region. It is one of the major trading locations in Crimson Desert's commerce system, serving as a destination for players transporting packaged trade goods by wagon. Unlike other vendors, the Royal Trading Post automatically accepts goods upon arrival, triggering a cutscene where the goods are received without requiring direct NPC interaction.

The Royal Trading Post operates as part of Crimson Desert's trade goods economy. Players acquire trade goods, package them at camp, load them onto a wagon, and deliver them to trading posts for profit.
Acquire Trade Goods: Trade goods are items with a blue background in your inventory. You can obtain them through the Freesword Dispatch System (requires comrades with advanced skills), by stealing items marked with a scale icon, from hijacked wagons, or through random discoveries while exploring.
Package Goods at Camp: Speak with Carl, the Provisions Keeper at your camp, and enter the Camp Provisions menu. Packaging costs 100 Copper per item. This step is irreversible; once packed, items cannot be unpacked.
Load the Wagon: Speak with Brice at camp to load packed goods onto your wagon. You need a wagon, which can be acquired by completing wagon crafting missions from the Timberturner Wainwright.
Check Demand: Before departing, hover over the Royal Trading Post on the map, press Inspect, and select the Trading Post tab. This shows "Selling Items" and "Buying Items" lists with current prices.
Deliver by Wagon: Ride the wagon manually to the Royal Trading Post. Upon arrival, the post automatically takes your goods via a delivery cutscene, provided you are carrying items they are currently buying.
Sell at Profit: The post pays current market rates. Sell when prices exceed market averages for maximum profit.
Trade good prices fluctuate based on supply and demand. Check the Trading Post interface before each delivery to ensure the items you are carrying are in demand. Selling when prices are high and buying local goods at low prices to transport elsewhere creates profitable trade routes.
NPC | Role | Details |
|---|---|---|
Bentley | Trading Post Manager | Manages the Royal Trading Post. Goods are accepted automatically upon wagon arrival. |
Unlike the Black Market (located on the west side of Hernand Town, southeast of the jail), which offers lower returns but requires no packaging or wagon, the Royal Trading Post pays premium rates for properly packaged and delivered goods.
Trade goods are high-value items that can be bought and sold between trading posts. Common trade goods include calligraphic paintings, tobacco, red ginseng, and ceramics. These items are identified by their blue background in the inventory.
Trading posts only buy items that are currently on their demand list. You cannot sell random items here. Always check what the post is currently buying before loading your wagon.
Venue | Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Royal Trading Post | Automatic acceptance. No minimum quantity. | |
Goldleaf Guildhouse | East of Hernand | Requires minimum 25 stacks per item. Unlocked after defeating Kailok the Hornsplitter. |
Black Market | West side of Hernand Town | Quick sales without packaging or wagon. Lower prices than official posts. |
To trade at the Royal Trading Post, you need a wagon. Wagons are built through the following steps:
Develop Greymane Camp to Level 2
Complete all "Embers of Return" quests
Finish Brice's Request
Complete the Dispatch Wagon Crafting Mission from the Timberturner Wainwright
You can upgrade your wagon to carry more goods by returning to the Timberturner Wainwright for higher-capacity commissions.
During the Bruna's Request faction quest, players visit the Royal Trading Post to obtain a Royal Delivery Note. A noble wearing a distinctive red hat provides the note, which reveals the saddler's location at Lioncrest Manor. This quest demonstrates the trading post's role as a social hub beyond simple commerce.
Always check demand before making the wagon trip. Delivering goods the post is not currently buying wastes time.
The Royal Trading Post does not have a minimum quantity requirement, unlike the Goldleaf Guildhouse which requires at least 25 stacks.
For quick cash without the wagon logistics, use the Black Market instead, though profits will be lower.
Avoid empty return trips. After selling at the Royal Trading Post, check if they have goods for sale at low prices that you can resell at another location.
Wagon upgrades from the Timberturner Wainwright increase cargo capacity, making each delivery more profitable.
