Comprehensive article on Private Storage system
Private Storage is a dedicated 240-slot item deposit system added to Crimson Desert in Patch 1.00.03 on March 23, 2026. It allows players to manually deposit and withdraw any item from their inventory into a shared storage chest. Before this patch, the only storage option was the Supply Chest, which was limited to specific quest-related items and could not hold general inventory.
Private Storage was one of the most requested features during the game's launch weekend. Players had struggled with inventory management in the first few days, particularly when hoarding crafting materials, recovery items, and spare equipment.
When interacting with a Private Storage chest, a dedicated storage interface opens. Players can deposit items from their personal inventory into any of the 240 available slots. Withdrawing items works the same way in reverse. Consumable items such as meat, herbs, and recovery potions stack within a single slot, holding up to 50 units per stack. This means 50 pieces of Dried Meat occupy just one of the 240 slots.
All Private Storage access points share the same pool of 240 slots. Items deposited at one location are immediately available at any other Private Storage location. There is no transfer delay or cost.
Private Storage chests can be found at two locations in the game world:
Location | Details | Availability |
|---|---|---|
Hernand Lodgings | Inside the player's rented room at any lodging in the City of Hernand. The chest sits next to the bed. | Available from the start of the game, once you rent a room near the Royal Trading Post. |
Located behind Carl (the Quartermaster) in the central tent area of the Greymane Camp. | Unlocked after restoring the camp during Chapter 3. |
Private Storage accepts virtually every item type in the game. This includes weapons, armor pieces, accessories, abyss cores, crafting materials, gatherables, recovery items, key items, and trade goods. Equipment that is currently equipped must be unequipped before it can be deposited.
The Private Storage pool is account-wide. Items deposited while playing as Kliff are accessible when switching to Oongka, Dain, or any other playable character. This makes it a convenient way to pass gear and materials between characters without dropping items on the ground.
Store crafting materials you do not need immediately. Minerals, herbs, and animal parts take up valuable inventory space that you will want free during exploration.
Keep a reserve of recovery items in storage for boss fights. Deposit extras after gathering runs and withdraw them before heading into difficult encounters.
If your inventory fills up during a long exploration session, fast-travel back to Hernand or Howling Hill to deposit items rather than selling them at a discount to field vendors.
