Initial version: full pet equipment overview with images, tables, and acquisition details
Pet equipment in Crimson Desert is a collection of cosmetic outfits and headgear that you can purchase for your pet companions. These items are purely decorative and do not provide any stat bonuses or gameplay advantages. Since pets do not participate in combat directly, the equipment exists solely to let you customize your companion's appearance. Every piece of pet equipment falls into one of two slots: Pet Helm (headgear) or Pet Outfit (body armor). Each pet can wear one helm and one outfit at the same time.
There are 11 pet equipment items in total: 6 for cats and 5 for dogs. All items share the same base price of 240 silver and can be purchased from specialized pet tailor shops found in select settlements across Pywel. The equipment designs range from knightly plate armor to cozy peddler outfits, each with a distinct visual theme that gives your pet a unique personality.
Cats have access to six equipment pieces: three helms and three outfits. These items can be mixed and matched freely on either cat breed (Longleaf Forest Cat and Pororin Cat). The table below lists every available cat equipment piece.

|---|---|---|---|
| Pet Helm | A plate helm customized to fit a cat's head. It features a white feather on the top. The chin strap can be fastened tightly, ensuring it stays on during intense activities. It exudes the noble aura of a small but courageous knight. | |
| Pet Helm | A colorful, patterned hat for cats. Densely woven with thick thread, this hat offers excellent heat retention. It features a large pom pom on the top and includes a chin strap, ensuring even the most active cats can wear it without worrying about it falling off. | |
| Pet Helm | A hat for cats decorated elegantly with a feather. This wide-brimmed hat recreates the ceremonial uniform style, complete with an ornate feather. Crafted in a small size to fit a cat's head, it creates a gallant and adventurous look when equipped. | |
| Pet Outfit | Plate armor elaborately crafted for cats. Crafted from overlapping pieces of smooth plate, this equipment allows for unrestricted movement. The red cord accents create an impression that is both powerful and sophisticated. It is a piece of decorative armor designed more to enhance a cat's majesty than to provide actual defense. | |
| Pet Outfit | A peddler outfit for cats with a rolled-up sleeping bag and a small water bottle on top of a red cover. It is lightweight, and when worn, it makes the cat look like a seasoned traveler or a porter. | |
| Pet Outfit | A ceremonial uniform-style outfit made exclusively for cats. It comes as a set with an engraved neckpiece and a small cape. The fit is loose enough not to hinder the cat's flexible movements, and it even features a dedicated cutout for the tail, ensuring a snug fit. |
Dogs have access to five equipment pieces: two helms and three outfits. These items work with all five dog breeds (Boarhand, Floppy-Eared Bulldog, Jindo, Pointy-Eared Bulldog, and Saluki). The table below lists every available dog equipment piece.

| Pet Helm | A plate helm customized to fit a puppy's head. It features a white feather on the top. The chin strap can be fastened tightly, ensuring it stays on even the most active puppy's head. It exudes the aura of a loyal knight. | |
| Pet Helm | A soft blue fabric bandana for puppies. The golden ring embroidery on the forehead adds a touch of mystery. When worn, it makes your pet look like a little wizard. | |
| Pet Outfit | A plate armor designed in consideration of a dog's active movements. Durable plates were stacked on top of each other for flexibility, resulting in minimal hindrance even when running vigorously or jumping high. The outfit exudes the dependability of a little knight on a battlefield. | |
| Pet Outfit | An outfit for dogs crafted with deep blue fabric and finished with a golden trim. It uses soft materials for a comfortable fit, and the size can be adjusted using leather belts that wrap around the back and chest. | |
| Pet Outfit | An outfit for rescue dogs that run through rough mountains. When worn, it completes the look of a dependable partner who helps an ally in crisis. |
Pet equipment is sold exclusively at pet tailor shops. There are two such shops in Pywel, and neither is available from the start of the game. You will need to progress through certain quests and build trust with the shop owners before the full selection becomes available.
The primary pet tailor shop is run by Milou and is located in Pororin Village in the Pororin Forest area of Hernand. This village is initially sealed off from the player. To gain access, you must attempt to enter Pororin Village three times, which triggers a short quest chain:
The Unreachable Village: The first quest in the chain. Attempting to enter the village multiple times draws the attention of the local inhabitants.
Authorised Access: The follow-up quest that requires you to retrieve the Pororin Relic from a giant Ent and return it to Arkin. Completing this quest permanently unlocks entry to the village.
Once you have access to the village, Milou's shop is available for purchases. The shop starts with a limited selection, and you can unlock additional items by increasing Milou's trust level. To raise trust with the shop, gift Milou their favorite items. Higher trust levels add new equipment pieces to the shop's inventory.
A second pet tailor shop is located in the southwestern part of the City of Demeniss. This shop carries a similar selection of pet equipment but may have a more limited inventory compared to Milou's shop in Pororin. Like Milou's shop, increasing the Demeniss tailor's trust level through gifts will unlock additional items for purchase.
Every pet equipment item costs a flat 240 silver (displayed as 2.40 in silver coin notation). There are no discounts or bulk pricing. Given that there are 11 items total, purchasing the complete collection costs 2,640 silver. Silver is not hard to come by later in the game, but early on you may need to prioritize which pieces to buy first. Consider purchasing outfits for whichever pet species you actively use before collecting everything.
All pet equipment items support the refinement system. Each piece starts at +0 when purchased. The game's database lists refinement columns for Level, Stats, Materials, and Price for pet gear, following the same structure as the general equipment refinement system used for weapons and armor. However, since pet equipment is classified as cosmetic gear, the refinement system for these items does not provide meaningful combat stat increases in the same way that weapon or armor refinement does. Pet equipment is designed to enhance your companion's appearance rather than boost performance.
If you are looking to invest refinement materials for tangible gameplay improvements, prioritize upgrading your own weapons, armor, and mount gear before spending resources on pet cosmetics.
Each pet has two equipment slots: one for a helm and one for an outfit. You can equip one item in each slot simultaneously, allowing your pet to wear both a hat and a body outfit at the same time. To equip an item, purchase it from a tailor shop, then open your Inventory and apply it to your active pet through the Pets tab. Unequipping an item returns it to your inventory for later use or to swap onto a different pet.
Cat equipment can only be equipped on cats, and dog equipment can only be equipped on dogs. There is no cross-species compatibility. Within each species, any helm works with any outfit, so feel free to mix and match the Plate Helm with the Peddler Outfit, or any other combination that suits your taste.
While there is no formal set bonus system in the game, the pet equipment is organized into thematic pairs that share a visual style. Wearing matching helms and outfits from the same theme gives your pet a cohesive look.
Plate Set: Cat Plate Helm + Cat Plate Armor. A knightly aesthetic with overlapping metal plates and a feathered helm. Red cord accents tie the look together.
Peddler Set: Peddler Cat Hat + Peddler Cat Outfit. A traveling merchant theme with a colorful woven hat and a backpack-style outfit complete with a sleeping bag and water bottle.
Uniform Set: Uniform Cat Hat + Uniform Cat Outfit. A ceremonial military look featuring a feathered wide-brim hat paired with a caped outfit and engraved neckpiece.
Plate Set: Puppy Plate Helm + Puppy Plate Armor. A miniature knight look with stacked durable plates and a feathered metal helm. Built for a look that says loyal battlefield companion.
Cloth Set: Puppy Cloth Hat + Puppy Cloth Outfit. A wizard-themed soft fabric set with a blue bandana featuring golden ring embroidery and a matching deep blue outfit with golden trim.
Rescue Outfit: Rescue Puppy Outfit. A standalone body outfit with no matching helm. This mountain rescue-themed piece gives your dog the look of a dependable search-and-rescue companion.
Unlock Pororin Village early. The Unreachable Village quest chain is available relatively early. Complete it as soon as possible to access Milou's shop and start collecting pet outfits.
Build trust with the tailor. Gifting the tailor their favorite items increases trust, which unlocks more equipment for purchase. Visit regularly and bring gifts to expand the available selection.
Mix and match freely. There are no set bonuses, so you can combine any helm with any outfit within the same species. Experiment with different pairings to find a look you enjoy.
Prioritize your main pet. If silver is tight early on, buy equipment for the pet you use most often. You can always come back for the rest later when money is more plentiful.
Save refinement materials for combat gear. Pet equipment supports the refinement system, but since these items are cosmetic, your refinement materials are better spent on weapons, armor, and shields that directly improve your combat effectiveness.
Both cats and dogs have equipment. Cats have six items (three helms, three outfits) while dogs have five items (two helms, three outfits). Plan your purchases accordingly if you want to outfit companions of both species.
Check both tailor shops. The Demeniss tailor and Milou's shop in Pororin may carry overlapping inventories, but trust progression differs between them. Visiting both shops gives you more options.
