Patch 1.03.01 is a targeted hotfix released about 24 hours after Patch 1.03.00 went live across all platforms. It addresses three critical issues introduced by the larger 1.03.00 update, particularly around the new Nature's Snare ability and Xbox controller input handling. Pearl Abyss shipped the same fix to PS5 as system-level update 1.000.204.
Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
Nature's Snare projectiles | Previously ricocheted away or disappeared when using the skill. Projectiles now travel and connect properly. |
Xbox wireless controller | Xbox wireless gamepads sometimes prevented Nature's Snare (and Veil of Wind) from activating. Controller input handling restored. |
Private Storage loot | Under certain conditions, loot did not get stored in Private Storage after liberation events. Storage now receives loot correctly. |
Nature's Snare was introduced in Patch 1.03.00 as a new open-world ability for Damiane and Oongka. Within hours of 1.03.00 going live, community reports flagged two distinct problems with the skill. The first issue was that projectiles would visually leave the character but then ricochet in strange directions or disappear before connecting. The second issue was controller-specific: Xbox wireless gamepads sometimes swallowed the input entirely, preventing the skill from activating. Patch 1.03.01 resolved both.
At the time Patch 1.03.01 shipped, Pearl Abyss acknowledged several known issues still under investigation:
Steam Input: actions requiring right-stick rotation (Nature's Snare, fishing) do not function properly when the Steam Controller setting is set to "Enable Steam Input."
Intel Arc and certain NVIDIA GPUs: crashes, white screens, and visual glitches persist on specific hardware.
Quest tracking failures and character state abnormalities on certain save files.
Two bosses remain without obtainable knowledge: Moren and Clockwork Mantis. Their knowledge entries do not register when defeated.
Fishing reel-in malfunction with inverted Y-axis settings on Xbox.
Pearl Abyss committed to addressing these issues in subsequent hotfixes or in Patch 1.04.00.
