Prerequisite | Grappling Lv 5 |
Press X + Square while grappling (Kliff) or during Lariat (Oongka) to perform multiple Lariat slams on your enemy. This follow-up chains several consecutive grappling throws that repeatedly slam the target into the ground. Kliff's version costs 60 Stamina while Oongka's more efficient execution only costs 40 Stamina. The repeated slams deal heavy cumulative damage and keep the enemy locked in place for the duration.
Lariat Follow-up is unlocked when the Grappling skill reaches Level 5. Both Kliff and Oongka can learn this skill. Oongka also has the option of learning it through the "Watch and Learn" mechanic by observing the technique during combat. Grappling is a starting skill for all three characters, so players only need to invest Abyss Artifacts to raise it to the required level.
Oongka's version costs significantly less Stamina (40 vs. 60), making him the more efficient character for repeated grappling combos.
Use Lariat Follow-up after Restrain to keep enemies locked down for extended periods.
The repeated slams from this skill deal excellent total damage against single targets, making it valuable in boss encounters where you can land a grapple.
