The Freshwater Clam is an Aquatic Animal found in the rivers and lakes of Pywel in Crimson Desert. It is cataloged under the Aquatic Creatures section of the Knowledge Codex.
The Freshwater Clam hides its body within a hard shell, filtering microscopic food from the water after burying itself in underwater sediment. It is a stationary creature that relies entirely on its shell for protection, making it easy to overlook on riverbeds and lake floors.
Freshwater Clams are found buried in the sediment of rivers, lakes, and ponds. They prefer calm, slow-moving water where they can filter-feed undisturbed. Once discovered, their habitat is marked in the Knowledge Codex for future reference.
Freshwater Clams are gathered by hand from shallow water. Wade into rivers or lakes and use the pickup interaction near the bottom sediment to collect them. Because they do not move, they are easy to pick up once spotted. See the Complete Fish List for other freshwater species.
Freshwater Clams can be used as a Cooking ingredient, though their tough, chewy texture makes them a polarizing choice. Some recipes call for clams specifically, and they can be prepared at campfires or kitchen stations.
Look for Freshwater Clams buried in the sediment of calm rivers and lakes.
They are stationary, so once you know their habitat they are easy to collect repeatedly.
Counts toward Aquatic Creatures completion in the bestiary.
