The Electric Tool Design Research is a research unlock located in the Due Haven institute, on the 2nd row of the research tree. Completing this research grants the ability to craft several powerful elemental spears through dispatch missions at various factories across the world.

Location

This research is found at the Due Haven research institute. To access Due Haven, remember to remove your mask when entering the castle, or NPCs will become hostile. Speak to Hinrich on the bottom floor and hold L1 to listen to his request. The Electric Tool Design Research is the 2nd row of available research tracks at this institute.

What it Unlocks

Completing the Electric Tool Design Research unlocks dispatch missions to craft the following weapons:

Note that the Laser Cannon Spear requires a separate research unlock at the Leian Institute in addition to the Electric Tool Design Research. The Lightning Spear and Flame Spear are fully unlocked by this research alone.

Replacement Crafting

One of the most important uses of this research is as a replacement source for spears that were destroyed. If you accidentally salvaged or broke your Lightning Spear, Flame Spear, or Laser Cannon Spear, the dispatch missions unlocked by this research allow you to craft as many replacements as you need. There is no limit on the number of dispatch missions you can run.

Crafting Permanent (Cuckoo) Versions

The spears produced by these dispatch missions are standard versions. To create permanent (Cuckoo) versions that can be refined to the maximum stage, take any of the crafted spears to a workshop and combine them with the following materials:

• Small batteries

• Electrical components

• Cog wheels

The permanent version does not degrade or break during use and can be upgraded through the full refinement chain, making it a strong long-term weapon investment.
