Overview

The Duskfang Leather Armor is a Body Armor piece in Crimson Desert that provides a well-rounded combination of elemental resistances and utility bonuses. With DEF 5, Fire Resistance Lv.1, a Food Effect +1 bonus, and a 2% Climb Speed increase, it serves as a versatile defensive option for players who value exploration utility alongside protection. It is part of the Duskfang leather set, which also includes the Duskfang Leather Cloak and Duskfang Leather Gloves.

Stats

As a leather armor piece, the Duskfang Leather Armor uses hides and bones for Refinement upgrades at a blacksmith. Each refinement level increases its base defense by approximately 2 to 3 points.

Abyss Gear Bonuses

The Duskfang Leather Armor gains additional bonuses through the Abyss Gear system. When upgraded to Abyss Gear status, it provides Food Effect Lv.1, Climb Speed Multiplier 2.0%, and Fire Resistance Lv.1 as supplementary effects beyond its base stats.

How to Obtain

The Duskfang Leather Armor is found inside a treasure chest within the Whispering Grotto, a cave accessible by passing through a waterfall located south of Senia. To reach the chest safely, players should use the armed skill Stab while passing through the waterfall to avoid taking damage from the water. The Stab skill is unlocked by default for all three playable characters, so no additional preparation is needed.

Once inside the grotto, explore the cave interior to find the treasure chest containing the armor. Additional loot can also be found in the cave, so it is worth searching the entire area thoroughly.

This armor piece cannot be purchased from any known merchant and does not appear in any crafting recipe.

Part of the Duskfang Set

The Duskfang Leather Armor belongs to a set of Duskfang leather equipment scattered across different locations in the world:

• Duskfang Leather Armor (Body): Found behind the waterfall south of Senia in the Whispering Grotto.

• Duskfang Leather Cloak: Located inside a cave on the mountains at Grace Estate. Break the wooden gate at the cave entrance using an axe to gain access.

• Duskfang Leather Gloves: Found in a chest inside the Castlewood Ruins.

While there is no formal set bonus for wearing all Duskfang pieces simultaneously, equipping multiple pieces ensures consistent leather-type refinement costs and provides overlapping utility effects.

Usage Notes

The dual elemental resistances (Lightning and Fire at Lv.1 each) make the Duskfang Leather Armor a practical choice for areas or boss encounters where both damage types are present. The Fire Resistance bonus is particularly helpful against fire-breathing enemies and bosses with flame-based attacks.

The Food Effect +1 bonus increases the effectiveness of consumed food items, extending their duration or amplifying stat boosts. This pairs well with high-quality Cooking recipes and makes the armor especially useful for players who rely on food buffs during boss fights or extended exploration runs.

The 2% Climb Speed increase is a small but valuable quality-of-life bonus. In mountainous terrain or when scaling ruins and cliff faces, this bonus reduces the time spent climbing and helps conserve stamina.

At DEF 5, the Duskfang Leather Armor sits in the lower-to-mid tier of body armor defense values. Players looking for raw protection should consider heavier plate options like the Bolton Plate Armor (DEF 8) or the Canta Plate Armor (DEF 6). However, the Duskfang Leather Armor's combination of resistances and utility bonuses makes it a strong choice for players who prioritize versatility.

Like all Body Armor pieces, the Duskfang Leather Armor supports up to 10 refinement levels at any blacksmith. Fully refining it significantly closes the defense gap with higher-tier armor while retaining all of its utility bonuses.
