Overview

Cast Shadow (also listed as Casted Shadow) is the 59th main mission in Crimson Desert, found within Chapter 4: The Price of Knowledge under the Forbidden Knowledge sub-chapter. Following Kliff's encounter with the Abyss, Dean Grundir reflects on the implications of what was discovered in the depths. He becomes convinced that the rift-maker is the catalyst behind the catastrophe threatening Pywel. This transitional quest wraps up Chapter 4 and sets the stage for the events of Chapter 5.

Walkthrough

Cutscene with Grundir

The quest begins automatically after completing Obsession and Madness. A cutscene plays in which Dean Grundir processes the news of the Abyss encounter. He weighs Octavius' message against the strange being discovered in the depths, and delivers his conclusion: the rift-maker is responsible for the catastrophe unfolding across the land.

Returning to Greymane Camp

After the cutscene, your objective is to return to the Greymane Camp on Howling Hill. The fastest method is to fast travel to the Abyss Nexus point located above the camp on the sky map, then skydive down to the camp below.

Once you arrive, enter the main black tent in the center of the camp. A concluding cutscene triggers that wraps up Chapter 4. The story then transitions into Chapter 5: Guest Unbidden.

Tips

• This is a brief transitional quest with no combat. It serves primarily to connect major story events between the Abyss exploration and the events of Chapter 5.

• Use the fast travel system to reach Greymane Camp quickly. Open the sky map, select the Abyss Nexus above Howling Hill, and skydive down.

• The 10 Honey Tea items you receive as a reward are consumable healing items. Save them for the challenging combat encounters in Chapter 5.

• Before entering the tent to trigger the ending cutscene, take this opportunity to visit any shops or upgrade your equipment. Chapter 5 begins with intense encounters shortly after this quest concludes.
