Overview

The Calphade Gunpowder Mill is a military-grade gunpowder manufacturing facility in the Calphade region. It specializes in the rapid, efficient mass production of explosives for the Calphadean army while maintaining consistent quality standards. The facility plays a strategic role in the region's military infrastructure.

Location

The gunpowder mill is positioned in the southern reaches of the Calphade region, between the Calphade Siege Armory and Thalwynd village. Together with the siege armory and Calphade Castle, it forms part of the military-industrial complex that supports the Calphadean garrison.

Role in Chapter 6

During the Cradle of Defense quest in Chapter 6, the gunpowder mill is the second of three locations where players must raise a banner pike to reclaim the southern Calphade territory. The gunpowder mill area features more intense enemy resistance than the siege armory, with soldiers and grappler-type foes attacking in larger numbers.

Tips

• Be ready for quick-time events when grappled by enemies here. Failing the QTE button presses will take significant damage.

• The gunpowder mill is the middle objective in the Cradle of Defense quest chain, sitting between the siege armory and Thalwynd in difficulty.
