The Black-Maned Boar is a temporary ground mount in Crimson Desert. It is the standard variant of the black-maned boar family, recognized by the distinctive dark mane running along its back. With only 230 HP, it is the weakest member of its family but still provides a serviceable temporary ride for short-range mounted combat.
Black-maned Boars are common wild animals found throughout Pywel. They are aggressive creatures that will attack on sight, making them easy to engage for the purpose of subduing and mounting. Their low health pool means the taming fight is quick, but the mount itself is fragile and best suited for hit-and-run tactics rather than prolonged engagements.

Despite its low HP, the Black-maned Boar has surprisingly high defense (100) relative to its health pool. Its attack stat of 100 is respectable for a boar of its size.
Black-maned Boars are wild animals that must be attacked until they collapse:
Locate a Black-maned Boar in grasslands, forest edges, or open terrain across Pywel.
Attack the boar with melee or ranged weapons. With only 230 HP, it goes down relatively quickly.
Once the boar collapses, a ride prompt will appear. Press the ride button to mount it.
The mounting window is brief, so stay close to the boar during the fight.

While riding a Black-maned Boar, players can use the following abilities:

The standard Black-maned Boar is the weakest in its family at just 230 HP. The Rock Tusk Warthog and Small Black-Maned Boar both have 450 HP. The Black-Maned Boar Boss is the elite variant with 1,035 HP and 195 attack, far surpassing the standard version.
The Black-maned Boar's low HP makes it easy to subdue but also means it will not survive long in combat. Use it for quick engagements rather than extended fights.
If you spot a group of boars, look for the Black-Maned Boar Boss among them. The boss is a far superior mount.
Use the boar's charge attack to break through enemy lines before dismounting to finish the fight on foot.
