Overview

The Abyss Heuklang is a heteromorph creature catalogued in the Mysterious Cabin section of the Knowledge System. It is a peculiar animal with sleek, black, silky fur that moves almost noiselessly due to its agile build and silent steps. Gentle by nature yet highly cautious, the Abyss Heuklang rarely approaches people, but once trust is earned, it becomes loyal and deeply affectionate. It appears on the minimap as a white cat icon.

Found right outside the Axiom Archive in the Abyss. Located just before the entrance to the library, on the right side of a pillar.

Taming

At launch the Abyss Heuklang could not be tamed through the normal pet loop: petting it would not increase trust and it would not accept any food items. As of Patch Notes version 1.04, this is no longer the case. The Abyss Heuklang has been added to the regular pet roster and can be tamed and registered like any other companion. See the Taming (Patch 1.04) section below for the current process.

Taming (Patch 1.04)

Patch 1.04 reclassified the Abyss Heuklang from a special, non-tameable entry in the Mysterious Cabin section of the Knowledge System into a full pet. It can now be approached, tamed, and registered as one of your Pets. This change applies to all three playable characters, so Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka can all tame and register an Abyss Heuklang.

Where to Find

In addition to the launch spawn near the Axiom Archive described in the Location section above, Patch 1.04 populated the Abyss Heuklang across the lush, greenery-covered starting Abyss areas. Look for it wandering the softer, overgrown stretches of the early Abyss zones rather than the barren deeper sections. Exact routes are not a fixed spawn; several roam the same general region, so exploring the greenery on foot is usually enough to turn one up.

Taming Process

Abyss Heuklang taming follows the standard pet loop used by other Crimson Desert companions. Approach the creature carefully, since it is naturally cautious and will retreat if you close the distance too quickly. Pet it to begin building trust, then offer food to continue the process until trust reaches the registration threshold. Once trust is full, you can confirm the bond and add the creature to your registered pets, where it then appears alongside any cats, dogs, or birds you have already tamed.

Pet Accessory Slot and Equipment

The Abyss Heuklang uses the same pet systems as other registered companions after Patch 1.04. It has an accessory slot that can be used to adjust its behavior, and its cosmetic gear is stocked alongside the rest of the pet lineup. Tips

• You can register up to 30 pets total. Completing the full roster unlocks the Natural Collector trophy.
