Initial comprehensive Labyrinths article
Labyrinths are solo mini-dungeons found throughout the open world of Setera. Described as warped, unstable realms of fractured spacetime, they focus on puzzle-solving and exploration rather than pure combat. Seven named Labyrinths have been identified, each functioning as a puzzle platformer where players race through environmental challenges to reach a special treasure at the end.
The Shifting Labyrinth — Located at First Breath Coast. No Equipment Score requirement. Serves as the introductory Labyrinth.
Rune's Harmony — Located at Dawn Spider Den. No Equipment Score requirement.
Seeker of the Transparent Path — Located at Soroma Stronghold. Requires Equipment Score 8.
Discoverer of the Invisible Path — Located at Shady Vale. Requires Equipment Score 9.
Fading Footsteps — Located at Ancient Ruins. Requires Equipment Score 10.
Trial of Two Invaders — Located at Murkwater Fishing Spot. Requires Equipment Score 12.
Explorer of the Lost Path — Located at Western Vinetrap Forest. Requires Equipment Score 12.
Labyrinths feature a wide variety of puzzle mechanics, many of which leverage the Chronotector's time-manipulation abilities:
Platforming — jumping, climbing, and navigating moving or falling platforms
Pressure plates that trigger environmental changes
Block-pushing puzzles with spatial logic
Statue rotation puzzles
Timed sections with collapsing platforms
Logic-based puzzles requiring environmental observation
Enemy encounters, including mimic chests disguised as treasure
The Chronotector's abilities play a central role in Labyrinth puzzle design:
Temporal Tuning — Releases a shockwave that reveals traces of the past, including hidden paths, footprints, and environmental triggers invisible to the naked eye.
Time Reversal — Records a position in space-time and allows rewinding to that exact point. Can reverse moving platforms or environmental state changes, enabling access to areas that are only briefly available.
Temporal Isolation — Halts enemy movement, useful for bypassing combat obstacles or freezing environmental hazards in place.
Temporal Resistance — Slows environmental hazards and reduces fall damage, aiding navigation through dangerous platforming sections.
The Sentinel Leviona — a researcher dedicated to studying anomalies — is specifically interested in Labyrinths and Chrono Gates, reflecting their lore significance as fractured pockets of spacetime.
While Labyrinths prioritize puzzles over combat, they do contain varied enemy types including ranged attackers, agile assailants, and environmental hazards. A boss creature called Void Venom has been encountered within Labyrinth environments. Mimic chests — enemies disguised as treasure — also appear, punishing players who rush through without caution.
Each Labyrinth contains a special treasure at its conclusion. Completing Labyrinths contributes to overall character progression and unlocks unique rewards unavailable from other content types.
