Added the character outline readability option and recorded that only one storefront publishes accessibility metadata
11Castlevania: Belmont's Curse publishes an accessibility feature list for its PlayStation 5 release, and the entries are described rather than just counted. Ten features are listed across four categories. This page records them as published, alongside the controller and audio support confirmed for the other platforms.2233One caveat applies to everything below: these are storefront declarations made before release, not a tested account of how the options behave in the finished game. Ranges, granularity, and whether any setting can be changed mid-run have not been published.4455Published Accessibility Features6677Ten features, with the descriptions as published.8899CategoryFeatureWhat it doesAudioVolume ControlsIndividual audio volumes can be turned down and muted.Subtitles and CaptionsSubtitles (Basic)Subtitles cover the main story and main characters only.ControlsController Remapping (Basic)Controls can be changed to an alternate pre-set layout, or some remapping support is provided.ControlsPlayable without Motion ControlsThe game can be played without using motion controls.ControlsPlayable without Touch ControlsThe game can be played without using touch-based controls.ControlsPlayable without Controller VibrationThe game can be played without vibration or haptic feedback turned on.ControlsPlayable without Adaptive Trigger EffectThe game can be played without adaptive trigger resistance turned on.GameplayControl RemindersThe control scheme can be reviewed at any time.GameplayTutorial RemindersTutorial information can be reviewed at any time.GameplayGame PausingThe game can be paused at any time during gameplay or cinematics, in offline play.1010Two of these are worth drawing out. Subtitles are declared as basic, covering the main story and main characters rather than everything spoken, which is a real limit in a game that also delivers optional hints through spirits scattered around the city; see Ghosts and Clues. Controller remapping is also declared as basic, meaning alternate pre-set layouts or partial remapping rather than free rebinding of every input.11111212Game Pausing is qualified as offline only, which is unremarkable here because the game is single-player with no online component at all.13131414Controller and Input Support151516+Making Rose Easier to See17+18+One option observed in the menus of a preview build does not appear in the storefront list at all. Rose is drawn small against large, busy backgrounds, and a setting exists that makes her outline stand out so she does not get lost in the scene. The account that recorded it described the options menu generally as extensive. It is a readability aid rather than a difficulty setting, and it is the clearest sign that the shipped option list is wider than the ten features a storefront chooses to tag.19+1620FeatureStatusFull controller supportConfirmed. A gamepad is recommended.Keyboard-only optionAvailable on PC.DualSense controller supportListed, including vibration on the PlayStation 5 version. On PC it works over USB only.Xbox controller on PCListed as supported.Remote PlaySupported on PlayStation 5.Offline playEnabled. There is no online requirement.1721The control mapping itself, including which input does what, is on Combat and Controls.18221923Audio and Language20242125Custom volume controls and stereo sound are listed. The game ships with two audio tracks, Japanese and English, and eleven text languages, so players can pair either voice track with the text language they read most comfortably. The full language list is on System Requirements and Technical Specifications and the performers for both tracks are on Characters.22262327Difficulty as an Accessibility Route24282529The base game is demanding, and the confirmed difficulty modifiers are the main lever for players who need the challenge lowered. Damage dealt and damage taken are both adjustable, and automatic respawns outside boss doors shorten the retry loop. Konami has framed these around fairness rather than around making the game easy, and the published list is explicitly incomplete.26302731The underlying design already softens failure without any setting changed: dying costs nothing beyond returning to the nearest checkpoint, checkpoints are generously spaced, and passing one refills the healing flasks. Full detail, including what has not been published, is on Difficulty Options.28322933One mechanic worth flagging for players with motor-control needs: being petrified by a Medusa Head is escaped by waggling the analogue stick. That is the one confirmed input-mashing requirement in the game, and no alternative to it has been published. See Enemies and Medusa.30343135What Has Not Been Published32363337The storefront listing for the Windows release declares three accessibility features without naming them, so it is not possible to say whether the PC build matches the ten above. No accessibility list has been published for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, or Nintendo Switch releases. There is no published information on colourblind support, subtitle sizing or backgrounds, screen-reader support, camera or motion-effect reduction, aim assist, or a hold-to-press toggle. None of that should be assumed present or absent from the list above, which covers one platform's declarations and nothing more.38+39+One structural caveat about all of the above: only one of the four storefronts publishes accessibility metadata for this game at all. The ten described features come from the PlayStation 5 listing. The Xbox listings show no accessibility section in any territory, and the Nintendo listing has not been read. Silence from those storefronts is not evidence that the features are missing from those versions; it is evidence that those storefronts did not tag them.
