Karl Urban is not on that list. Bob's central arc is his relationship with Helena Walker, the Australian biologist whose journals frame much of the original ARK lore. He befriends Helena and teaches her primitive survival skills drawn from his Ranger training, serving as a grounded everyman foil to the more exotic personalities in the cast.

ARK: Lost Colony Bridge

In December 2025, Studio Wildcard expanded Urban's involvement beyond the animated booth. Bob reprises in ARK: Lost Colony, the paid expansion for ARK: Survival Ascended, with a redesigned in-game model built in Urban's likeness and fresh voice performances for the expansion's questlines. It was the first time Bob existed inside a playable ARK game rather than only in linear animated episodes.

Lost Colony also positions itself as the canonical bridge from ARK Extinction through Genesis and into the setup for ARK 2. That bridge is one practical reason fans wonder whether Urban will follow it across. The bridge is established. The casting is not.

Bob's True Tales Episodic Content

Studio Wildcard has confirmed two further pieces of Bob-centric content with Urban attached.
