World bosses
The original ArcheAge featured several open-world boss encounters that required large groups of players and often triggered PvP conflicts between competing guilds. These fights were among the game's most memorable content, combining PvE mechanics with the constant threat of enemy players.
The Kraken
The Kraken was ArcheAge's most famous boss encounter. A massive sea creature at Eternal Grade (level 55) with over 8 million HP, it spawned in deep ocean zones and required multiple ships worth of coordinated players to defeat. In the lore, the Kraken is a servant of Dahuta (Aranzebia), Goddess of the Sea, who seeks to control the oceans of Erenor.

The fight took place on open water. Ships had to maneuver around tentacle slams that could capsize vessels, ink clouds that obscured vision, and devastating area attacks. Cannon fire from galleons was the primary damage source. When the Kraken's health dropped to 70%, there was a chance of summoning the Abyssal Kraken, a significantly more powerful variant that could end unprepared raids.
Defeating the Kraken rewarded 5 Gilda Stars, 3,000 Honor Points, 10 Leadership, and a Kraken Eye used in high-level gear crafting. The fight also attracted PvP attention from competing guilds wanting to steal the kill or loot.
Red Dragon
The Red Dragon was an aerial world boss encountered on Auroria. The fight involved ground and air phases, with players using gliders during certain mechanics. The Red Dragon's fire breath covered large areas, and its health pool required sustained DPS from a full raid group.
Leviathan
The Leviathan was another naval world boss, a servant of Dahuta alongside the Kraken. It appeared in specific ocean zones and required ship-based combat to defeat. Like the Kraken, Leviathan encounters attracted PvP from competing guilds.

Delphinad Ghost Ship
The Delphinad Ghost Ship was a spectral vessel that appeared in the seas around Auroria. Players had to board the ship and fight through waves of undead crew before confronting the captain. The encounter tied into the lore of Delphinad's destruction, with the ghost ship being a remnant of the ancient city's naval fleet, still sailing its trade routes centuries after the city's inhabitants perished.
Anthalon
Anthalon himself appeared as a raid boss deep in Auroria's territory. One of the hardest PvE encounters in the game, the fight featured multiple phases, undead add waves, and area denial mechanics. Defeating Anthalon dropped some of the game's rarest loot.

World bosses in Chronicles
ArcheAge Chronicles has confirmed the return of large-scale boss encounters, including naval fights. The 20-player raid system supports coordinated encounters, though the scale is smaller than the original's 50+ player world boss zergs. Whether specific bosses like the Kraken return by name or in reimagined form has not been confirmed.
