Twining

Added the per-species Mobility and Pathfinding ability categories that determine what a Pathfinder can do while Twined
Twining is the signature mechanic of Aniimo, and the source of its motto, Be One Be All. By Twining with a captured Aniimo, a Pathfinder can essentially become that creature, taking on its form, its skills, and its way of seeing the world.

Any Aniimo a player has collected can be Twined with, turning the creature into a tool for solving problems. Players use an Aniimo's skills to clear puzzles, win battles, and overcome obstacles that a Pathfinder could not handle alone. Twining is framed as a way to see Idyll from a brand new perspective.
Twining is closely tied to movement and exploration. Depending on the creature, players can glide through the air, dive underwater, or burrow through the ground, with the world built so that you can step foot almost anywhere. This makes a varied collection of Aniimo a key to reaching new places across Idyll. Each Aniimo also grants its own signature mobility skill when Twined, from a stamina-fueled sprint to ground-shaking charges, so the creature a Pathfinder wears changes how they move as well as how they fight.
Because each Aniimo brings its own movement and abilities, a wider collection unlocks more ways to traverse and solve challenges. The breadth of Twining is what the slogan Be One Be All captures: the more creatures you collect, the more forms and abilities you can call on. Specific Twining skills for individual Aniimo have not been fully detailed, so this page covers only the confirmed shape of the mechanic.
What a Twined Aniimo can actually do is set per species rather than shared across the roster. The official creature index publishes two ability categories that sit outside combat: Mobility, listed for roughly half the indexed Aniimo, which covers how that creature moves and therefore how a Pathfinder travels while Twined with it, and Pathfinding, listed for a smaller group, which covers abilities used to interact with the world. That is why gliding, diving, and burrowing are described as things particular Aniimo bring rather than a universal toolkit: the traversal option a player has at any moment depends on which companion they are wearing. See Aniimo Creatures for the index and Combat and Battles for the combat-side skills and Traits.
