Lumin Crystals and Currencies
September 17, 2026 at 12:16 AM
Initial version (2026-09-17)
Aniimo is free to play on every platform, and everything it charges money for runs through a single premium currency. This page collects that currency, the free currency that sits beside it, and the catching items and materials that function as spendable resources in practice. The paid packs sold separately from all of this are on Pre-Orders and Editions and Companion Handbook and Passes.
Lumin Crystals are the premium currency: bought with real money, spent in the in-game shop. Two purchase incentives are published, and they work differently from each other.
Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
Purchase bonus | Every Lumin Crystal purchase carries a 10 percent bonus on top of the advertised amount. This applies to every purchase, not only the first. |
First-purchase bonus | The first purchase at each Lumin Crystal tier grants extra Glimmer. The bonus is per tier rather than per account, so it can be earned once at each price point instead of once overall. |
Because the first-purchase bonus is attached to the tier and not to the account, working up through the tiers one at a time collects the bonus more often than making the same total spend in one large purchase. No exchange rate between Lumin Crystals and Glimmer has been published as of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8), and no price table for the individual tiers has appeared outside the in-game shop, so the size of each bonus is only visible in the client.
Route | Notes |
|---|---|
In-game shop | The default route on every platform. Purchases go through the platform the client runs on. |
Console stores | Purchases made through the PlayStation and Xbox storefronts land in the same account. |
Official web shop | The studio runs its own web shop, which advertises additional discounts for players who have linked an email address in game. The three routes are therefore not priced identically. |
Third-party sellers | Prohibited. Discounted or proxy top-ups from outside these routes are an explicit violation; see Fair Play Policy. |
Linking the email address that unlocks the web shop discount is the same linking step described on Accounts and Aniimo Pass, so a player who links their account at first launch has already done the work.
Glimmer is the game’s other headline currency, and unlike Lumin Crystals it is handed out rather than sold. It was the first pre-registration milestone reward, granted at 200 units when global sign-ups passed 10 million. It arrives again as the extra granted by a first purchase at each Lumin Crystal tier, and it is among the rewards for logging in on both PC and mobile once the mobile version is out on September 23, 2026.
A full list of what Glimmer buys has not been published as of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8). It appears in reward lists far more often than in shop descriptions, which fits a soft currency rather than a hard one, but that is an observation about how it is distributed and not a published statement about how it is spent.
Glimmer Amber appears in official material as a separate named item alongside Glimmer. As of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8) no published description of how it is obtained or what it is spent on had appeared in the studio’s announcements, in the launch reward lists, or on the official creature index. It is recorded here as a confirmed name and nothing more. In particular it should not be assumed to be a larger denomination of Glimmer, because nothing published says so.
The tools used to catch Aniimo are consumables handed out as rewards, and they behave like a currency in practice: they are accumulated, spent, and given out in fixed quantities at milestones. How they are used is on Catching and Aniipods.
Item | What it is | How it is obtained |
|---|---|---|
Aniipod | The standard catching device. | The baseline tool, available from ordinary play. |
Aniipod Ultra | A premium catching device. | Two were granted at the 15 million pre-registration milestone. One went to every member of a six-person squad formed through the launch squad feature, and more come from launch-version activities. |
Sparkling Cube | A catching item that guarantees Perfect Potential on the creature caught with it. | Launch-version activities. See Aniimo Base Stats for what Perfect Potential is worth. |
Tumbler | A catching item. | Launch-version activities. Named alongside the Sparkling Cube and Aniipod Ultra in reward lists; its distinct effect had not been published as of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8). |
Legendary Aniipod | A single-use device crafted by the player for one specific Legendary Aniimo. | Built from legendary tokens gathered through exploration and story progress. It is not bought. |
Two more resources are spent on raising creatures rather than catching them, and one is a property of the world instead of the inventory.
Resource | What it does |
|---|---|
Legendary Star Dust | A training material whose output was increased for the launch build. See Aniimo Training and Growth. |
Capafruit | Grants effects to a creature. Those effects now transfer automatically between creatures during inheritance, so a replacement creature no longer has to be fed from scratch. |
Prismatic Energy | An area resource rather than an inventory one. Nurturing an area’s ecosystem raises it, a lucky strike while catching raises it, and it drives the Prismana Flow event. See Prismana and Umbral Aniimo. |
Two things are easy to file here by mistake. The Companion Handbook is a battle pass item rather than a currency: it is redeemed once, activates a tier, and expires with the version; see Companion Handbook and Passes. Accessories, outfits and avatar frames are cosmetic items granted by passes, milestones and platform purchases; they are not tradable and not spendable, and account trading of any kind is prohibited outright.
Aniimo also carries no published player-to-player trading economy as of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8). Creatures hatched from sealed beta eggs are explicitly account bound and cannot be traded, and no marketplace has been announced, so currencies here flow from the studio to the player and are then spent, rather than circulating between players.
