Launch Version Changes

Initial version (2026-09-09)
Aniimo reached its global launch after three closed beta tests, and the build that goes live on September 16, 2026 is not the build those testers played. On September 3, 2026 the studio published a letter to players that reads as a changelog: it names the systems that were rebuilt, the one that was deleted outright, and the new creature category that arrived with them. Anything written about Aniimo from beta footage needs checking against this list.
The short version is that the studio cut complexity rather than adding it. A whole progression layer was removed, a luck-based capture ritual was replaced with a quest, and the player home grew from a single space into a map.
System | What Happened |
|---|---|
Runes | Removed entirely. The rune system is gone from the launch build. |
Random rune slots on Carried Items | Removed. The Carried Item system was simplified alongside the rune removal. |
Early-game Prismatic Energy probability decay | Removed. Low Prismatic Energy no longer reduces the chance of triggering a Prismana Flow. |
Offering quality affecting Wild Surge quality | Removed. Ecosystem nurturing now grants a fixed amount of Prismatic Energy instead. |
The old way of obtaining Irisalis was an entry fee followed by throwing ball after ball and hoping. The studio described that as unsatisfying and replaced it, and said the replacement is the template for every Legendary Aniimo encounter that follows.
Step | What You Do | |
|---|---|---|
Collect | Gather legendary tokens through world exploration and story progress, folded into ordinary exploring and [[catching-and-aniipods | catching]]. |
Craft | Build your own Legendary Aniipod from those tokens. | |
Unlock | Open the Legendary Aniimo's exclusive story. | |
Encounter | An exclusive encounter appears on the map. Enter the battle, follow the story, defeat the creature, then throw the Aniipod you made to seal the bond. |
The encounter happens once. There is no second attempt and no repeat farming.
Prismana acquisition was flattened. Every nurturing action now carries the same base chance to trigger a Prismana Flow, and the existing guarantee system stays in place on top of that. Season-exclusive Prismana spawn rules were reworked separately.
Catching gained a lucky strike mechanic. A lucky strike grants item rewards, raises the surrounding area's Prismatic Energy, and can trigger a Prismana Flow directly.
Umbral Aniimo are new at launch. They carry Perfect Potential and distinctive colouration, and they turn up through Wild Surges from ecosystem nurturing as well as by chance out in the world.
Two more catching changes landed. A creature caught with a Sparkling Cube now has guaranteed Perfect Potential, and wild spawn rates for high-potential 9/9 and 10/10 creatures went up.
Change | Detail |
|---|---|
Legendary Star Dust | Output increased. |
Capability Awakening | Resettable at any time for any Aniimo below level 60, with training items returned. |
Capability caps | Now unlock gradually with the creature's level and its Resonance star rank. |
Capafruit | Effects transfer automatically between creatures during inheritance. |
The Homeland took the largest single share of the changes.
Area | Change |
|---|---|
The Home | Now a multi-area map with house building and a large new furniture selection. |
RV | Upgrade experience improved and upgrade times adjusted. |
RV dispatches | Can now produce Aniimo eggs carrying the Prismana trait. |
Furniture | Groups shareable by code, higher multi-select limits, new interactive pieces, some usable out in the open world. |
Selling | Unused furniture sells back at a discount through the Co-op Store. |
Home Aniimo | New idle behaviours, improved work logic, and a new petting interaction. |
Orders | Better refresh logic and more variety. |
Seasons | New Home season events with season-exclusive furniture and formulas. |
Social | New soil-tilling interaction: till soil at another Pathfinder's Home to earn a share of their harvest. |
Operation: Egg Heist was expanded with more obtainable egg types and a new high-difficulty Chaos Mode, and the studio said its competitive event modes will keep being refined.
The main story gained multi-language voiceover, and translation quality was improved across every language. Journey quest guidance was rebuilt to fix vague objectives and progression blockers. Pathfinder Challenges gained rematches. Holo-Battle Interlink gained AI teammate support. Controls were improved on mobile devices and on controllers, and the player character model, NPC models, animations and expressions were all reworked.
Players who sealed an Aniimo into an egg during the last closed beta keep it. Logging in at launch with the same account and channel used in the test claims the sealed egg, either in game or through the matching event page. The egg hatches only once its creature's Form is unlocked in the Aniilog, and a hatched creature from a sealed egg is account bound and cannot be traded. Where a player sealed eggs on more than one server, only the one from the highest-level test character is kept, with ties broken by whichever was sealed last.
Appearance, stats, skills and core attributes were retained as far as possible, though the studio noted that the stat progression system itself was moderately adjusted based on test feedback.
